I feel like it was more implied to be dynamic weather and some kind of terraforming tho instead to be the new 'gimmick' this time around. I just never really know anymore with games that have the potential to be hamfisted with open world nonsense
If we ignore the graphical aspect: rise only has wirebugs for it, in comparison to other titles, and I doubt we will see them appear anytime soon. Well, maybe that and a heavy focus on damage related skills due the factor of most monsters becoming HP sponges.
Maybe we will see customizable skill sets back, too. But I hope they will stay relevant to their respective weapons and weapon identity, not what we have in Rise.
Not really, a decent chunk of world's team was not even working on rise.
The portable team is doing Rise, Ichinose (director) who worked on MHGen and the major developers, directors, etc. for World and other big titles were not even taking part in it. Hell: Iceborne director Daisuke Ichihara actually left.
People and developers love to throw around claims and no one dares to double check it. Just how when people pointed out the lie behind "back 4 blood" having "the team of L4D2" developing the game. Truth: some random person who had zero says in his previous team is now taking part in another game. He will have zero positive impact on the game or the direction of it.
Same with Rise.
Rise has more than Wire bugs (not the best thing about rise), it has Switch Skills (one of the best things about rise), the Art direction give better MH vibes than world, no more copy pasted Weapon for different monster gear (pre iceborn, only few weapons had unique styles), the bestiary is larger in base Rise if we compare with base World, we have Leviathan monsters, Palamutes (love it or hate it, depend on opinions)... ect..
The only thing that i think is lacking in Rise are the Special hunts (Raids or thing like that) like Kulve Taroth, Jhen Mohran ...ect...
Ugh screw those raids/event quests, anything you can't feasibly solo is automatically ♥♥♥♥ for monster hunter. That and the gear you got from them was really good too, so it was almost mandatory. Basically, if you hated playing with randoms and didn't have a full stack for them you'd be missing out on some of the best gear available.
I loved doing Kulve Taroth solo in MH World
I miss the old games were we had no health scaling for monsters in the Hub quests, doing them solo was so satisfying
You some asian speedrunner or something? Idk bout you but I like having fun when I play videogames. Soloing event quests designed for 4 people is not my idea of "fun."
Lemme guess, you also solo the Behemoth too?
Well, Behemoth is way harder in solo than Kulve Taroth, i'm not a speedrunner, just someone that always played old MH in solo (because too shy to go in someones group and my friends don't play MH), so... i got a taste for playing that way
For Behemoth, i felt like i had to use some HBG cheese to beat it solo, but i'm not a HBG player, Kulve was feasible with my favorite weapon of the time, the GunLance
"BRUH" they are not the teams converged after world including the frontier team, there is no longer 2 teams
You literally could solo them, it would just take you a bit longer.
Even tri jhen was technically soloable with the proper setup, just incredibly difficult.
So it possibly may not have been confirmed, but it seems heavily present. In the Gamescon Asia 23 Interview, Ryozo did mention that internally, the two teams are viewed as equals, so this could imply still two teams, but Ryozo also says he sees them as just a Monster Hunter team.
