For the most part tho, it's players just not wanting to move on because World was their first title, and they rather not learn new systems.
Another thing that impacted rise was that the pandemic HEAVILY affected its development years ago so the game was released in a pretty unfinished state and that affected people's perception of it to this day sadly.
Rise's player base is also going up a little bit in the past couple months.
Did you guys even wonder for a second why world sold more? hmmmm, It must be the discounts. But oh, World was more popular since it's release, before all the discounts. So it must be something else, but surely not because World has more depth and overall a more complete game, surely not that,... right?
Rise was designed for handhelds and it shows. And don't bring "learning new system" because Rise is even more simplified than the older ones. Literally the same as the older ones Pressing two buttons to skip everything needed on older series is not what I call learning new system.
Guys, it's fine if you like a more arcade-y game like Rise, it is still a good game, it is still a better game than all those overpriced and unfinished AAA games, and still enjoyable even if you have played World. I mean, it is still Monster Hunter. BUT World is just more complete and that is a fact. From the graphics, the immersion, etc. Very noticeable even since the first cutscene. It baffles me how you guys trying to argue, that a game that was designed for PC and home consoles where people usually sit for hours somehow has less to offer than a game designed for handhelds which in these days usually correlated with shorter gametime.
When MH6 comes out with only High Rank people will not shut up talking about how easy the game is, how the game isn't as good as MHW or MHR, how little content the game has to offer, etc.
Also, Tresh, I hope you're having a good time playing GU
Mizu gave me my first defeat, but considering I was supposed to hunt a Bulldrome, I'm not too surprised. xD
And yeah, I fully expect this argument to repeat itself for as long as the franchise exists. People don't change.
One bag of trash can be better than another bag of trash. Still trash tho.
I don't think it has anything to do with Nostalgia.....
World just looks better and plays better. It's that simple. I'm not saying Rise is bad, I'm currently playing both as I think Rise has better armour and weapon models, and has a more fun hunting horn. World is just a more satisfying, immersive, and has more impact over Rise.
Again, NOT saying Rise is bad.
