-25% Affinity is no go for me, their Atk stat isnt that great aswell. So may be GS and Hammer will do ok, anything else is meh imo. :sunekosuri:

so a flat 10% for all weapons in total?

They're the best water weapons across the board for most melees, really insanely good. Compared to previous water options, the Amatsu Lance and Glaive for example are like ~10% stronger, plus they get the Silkbind Boost which boosts silkbind attacks by 10% as well.
Gunlance is probably still better off with Chaotic GL because it gets so much affinity and has similar raw to Amatsu's GL, and Bullet Barrage spam is a meme playstyle anyway, but for that Amatsu GL might be better.

The Silkbind Boost only affects attacks that consume wirebugs.

yes
useful for people who love to spam gunlance bullet barrage, since affinity doesnt matter for shelling

When crit eye and wex are so easy to get, thats really a non issue. Very easy to hit 60% crit with them, can even hit 90% with bloodlust and affinity augments.

I play IG most of the time and Amatsu weapons sharpnes is too low for my comfy builds, and i play multiplayer mostly so i need a longer sustainability. No slots (except rampage) is also a big downside :sunekosuri:

hmmm so its not that helpful for like heavy bow gun cuz none of hte silkbind things it has does damage (aside from teh coutnercharge which i dont use)
and dual blades maybe the drill spin attack i guess.

guess im sticking with my velkhanna HBG which has all the types of ammos i love

Sharpness I will give you. I tend to always run sharpness skills. That + augmenting MIGHT be enough to make it decently comfy? I would have to mess around with it.

Since every weapon gets +20 sharpness from max Qurio augment slots, maintaining purple on Amatsu weapons is extremely easy. Crit Eye 7, Wex 3, Bloodlust, Strife 2, Rousing Roar and I often overcap on affinity with them (no affinity or sharpness augments, just one attack and 8 elemental ones). Amatsu IG is so much better than any other water Glaive.

I tried Amatsu IG with Master`s Touch and Razor Sharp 3 and all monsters you need to fight at Anomaly lvl 241+ in order to get Thickblood, is Risen Valstrax and Magala which has armour on most of their body so you dont get yellow dmg numbers much and your sharpnes depletes too fast in multiplayer so its not comfy

You're supposed to hit their weakspots. Not to mention that the best Glaives for Risen Valfalk and Risen Shagaru are Scorned and Flaming respectively anyway.

Depends on what you use. GS and Hammer enjoy Amatsu weapons well, don't really see it being better than almudron for most elemental weapons though. It depends on how silkbind spammy the weapon is.
Chomp Dude Apr 23, 2023 @ 10:03am
To review the Greatsword, 360 raw is pretty damn beefy, especially if you consider that it has natural purple sharpness. Another plus is the level three rampage slot. You can offset the poor crit stat with skills or you could even use qurious weapon crafting. Just unlocking anomaly slots buffs the weapon's stats too, if you want more sharpness or to get even more of a disgusting attack stat.

The only real problem I have with it is no regular deco slot. Armor sets now are pretty generous but it's nice to have that little extra bit. I'm also not sure if it pairs well with Strongarm Stance but I imagine any attack that gives the blue aura around the damage numbers will benefit from the weapon's unique skill.

I know that on Switch Axe, it's the best Water Power Phial SA, and honestly, just a beefy hitter all around. It has good element, not as good as Almudron, so for Water as a whole, and from what I've seen for Melee, Almudron is still king for Water Melee. The rest of the stats are nice, and the -25% Affinity means nothing for SA.
