There is God Eater, but it's anime. It doesnt have armor, but you upgrade your melee weapon, ranged weapon and shield. It's super fast paced compared to MH, the fights are extremely quick (maybe around 5 mins if you're doing alright), but sadly gets repetitive faster than MH and the combat for me, especially in GE3, was mostly spamming one or two attacks depending on the monster state.
If you don't know, there is also Toukiden, but I don't know much about it.
You pretty much played all the better/most popular ones already. I can't wait for Dragon's Dogma 2.
But good luck finding any game with a gameplay loop/gear progression as satisfying as monster hunter. Nothing comes close for me.
Any fan of MH should try it, particularly Toukiden: Kiwami. That one feels a lot more in the spirit of old school Monster Hunter.
Toukiden 2 is cool and fun too, but the open world doesn't really do it for me as much as Kiwami did.
But both have lots of weapons and armors to craft, with weapons having raw damage, elemental, or ailment statuses on them just like MH, and tons of big (and small, like jagras or other small monsters) demons to hunt (even variants/subspecies If I remember right.) with weak points and parts you can cut off and so on.
Even has a story that's pretty decent I think. With the story going over to Toukiden 2, although you play as a different hunter.
