MHR has LGBTQ+ in the game or not?

No. The game is as apolitical as it gets. Just like most japanese video games. Just hunt monsters and make armor and weapons out of them.

As much as you want in your head-canon. In other words: it does not matter to begin with.

You don't really play these games for the story . . . They usually have a fun story/lore/side bits, but, like, it's about the monsters.

It has an underlying conserve and steward nature type message. You're basically playing as a very aggressive park ranger

You can interpret every single game to have a type of political messaging, people have been doing that with all sorts of media way before video games so it's nothing new.

To prove my point, I can just as well make a case for this game an underlying message about how it is human right to exploit everything around them due to how nonchalantly you can kill everything without any consequences. See? You see whatever meaning you want to see. Every single great piece of media has dozens, if not hundreds of different interpretations, most of them conflicting with one another and most of them also completely wrong, because most media does not have any deeper meaning. To further emphasize how nonsensical this is: I've seen some idiots on the internet claim MH games are an alegory for "colonialism", which is an obvious absurdity and gave me a good chuckle :mhwhappy:.

Or have a really humorous example here: The Beatles made a song called "Yellow Submarine", which seemed uncharacteristic for them and a lot of people obviously tried to analyze it and interpret some messaging from it. Turns out they wrote is almost a joke, when they saw some young people at schools were asked to analyze their songs. There was literally no deeper meaning to it.

There was also another artist, forgot his name, who made songs that featured ridiculously weird lyrics. When people kept asking him for what is the true meaning of them, he said something to this extent: "When I realized people did not care for the words I actually wrote and always tried to find their own meaning in them, I stopped caring what I write because what does it even matter?".

By saying the game is "apolitical as it gets" I obviously meant that it is not OVERTLY political, there is nothing in this game that is trying to preach to you any ideology or political messaging. The only thing this game is trying to do is make you have fun playing.

I mean, I'm pretty sure the game itself tells you as much. It might be even blantantly stated in Stories? But it's been awhile since I've played those. I could've sworn, when you're first introduced to hunters in stories 1 (or meet them at the first big city), they describe their goal as basically being conservationists.

The main game's quests can range from funny joke reasons to actual reasons, though. And it has definitely changed throughout the games with World being more about research and stuff.

And that's a valid view of the game. I would just like to remind you, though, that more than one person works on these games and the people making the fights are going to be different from the ones writing the story.

And saying they have no narrative through-line or reason for being beyond hunt, kill, blood-lust kinda makes it seem like they're not doing, at least, a part of their jobs

On the one hand, Chichae (the girl on the right) is like, 13 or 14? Maybe younger? She's literally a Princess. Fiorayne (the woman on the left) is one of her Knights, and something of a role-model for Chichae. The scene pictured is way more like a younger child dancing with their favourite aunt at a wedding or something than it is anything explicitly romantic.

On the other hand, Fiorayne spends an awful lot of her screentime gushing over your character. As do a number of other characters, in fact. Of various genders. Some of it might be construed as flirting, some of it might be just a case of hero-worship. How gay or straight it is depends entirely on which gender you chose for your character to be, and how you choose to interpret the other characters' behaviour.

If you don't care, you probably won't even notice it. If you're looking to be offended, then you'll find offense in spades.

Is it really that important for you to complain about someone saying "he's looking to be offended" when you literally and fundamentally went out of your way to be offended by this by searching for a post that hadn't had a reply since July 5, 2023?
