long story short, I'm sure you'll find some difficulty in it if it's your first one, but go in with the idea that it is the easier of the two monster hunter games on steam.
just a quick edit: i had a friend pick up the game a while ago and they've never played on before and they had said the game was pretty difficult for them, but again that's because they're learning the game.
It's not *as* difficult as previous monster hunters thanks to the super moves and nigh infinite mobility of silk bugs which set it aside from most of the series, but, it's not like it's easy.
You're saying no one takes a hit down to almost zero HP and makes use of wirebugs to get out? And that those wirebugs *never* impact whether they successfully get out?
Really?
Ah, yes. The greatsword being able to have a gap closer which also gives stagger immunity and a damage reduction has zero impact on the difficulty of using the weapon. How silly I am to ever think such an insane thought.
What? Me use the greatsword outside of rise? I can't. I need the super moves to be able to use it effectively. b-but that's not because the super moves make it easier or anything!
Rise is easier. I don't *care* that it's easier. I like using the greatsword and it'd probably be years before I could in any other game.
But it's easier. There's stagger immunity, damage reduction, and mobility out of the wazoo and that helps at the end of the day.
Shoulder bash was in the previous game.
I've also taken down monsters entirely from using the greatsword leap if I don't feel comfortable thwacking them normally. 'DPS loss' doesn't hold if I can still kill it with time to spare.
Also the flurry mode. Don't forget that. Much faster hits, still has stagger immunity on the low spins if you need it. I also regularly use it when I wouldn't feel comfortable using regular greatsword. (Because it's easier to use) ((Because rise is easier)) (((which is fine, but call it what it is)))
Oh, greatsword also has kick in this game. Absolutely insane, OP move. For that alone man.
I imagine most veteran hunters don't make much use of them, but there's no denying having nigh infinite items changes things.
I regularly restock flash bombs for a noob friend of mine and pop one every time he shouts 'oh god I'm going to die!'. Happens more than five times a hunt, believe it or not.
Makes it easier to avoid carts. Which is fine- I'd probably be frustrated if it didn't. But, we did use the E word.
Sunbreak endgame will find a way to kick your ass though
Really? Cause I haven't experienced this. Do you use ranged weapons? Oh or do you not gather any health spiribirds? That'd explain it too.
Green Spiribirds collection is important. If you take the shortest route to collect them, it will only take about a minute. I think people who join the quest from the middle of the quest should definitely collect GreenBirds alone. Below is a video of collecting Green Spiribirds by the shortest route, which I hope many people will find useful.

If you have 250 physical strength, you will not die from one hit by any attack.
I agree with you about the lack of content too. However, I expect that the April update will not be the last and that there will be another one in June. I think the content shortage will be resolved by then.
