Is it true that this game is too easy?
I'm thinking of buying this, but if it really is an easy game, I'll pass it on. Mostly, because in a game where you're supposed to get more and better equipment to kill monsters, it doesn't make much sense if you don't even need it to defeat enemies. (something Dark Souls does quite well, for example).

if you've never played any monster hunter game before, i'm sure you'll find difficulty in it mostly because when you first start out there's a pretty big learning curve. i first started with MH3U which personally I think was the hardest game out of the few i've played. I've played world and rise as well since they're on pc now and I don't think either of the games are that difficult. (world had it's moments but to me not as difficult as some say.) rise is definitely the easiest though out of all of these i've played.

long story short, I'm sure you'll find some difficulty in it if it's your first one, but go in with the idea that it is the easier of the two monster hunter games on steam.

just a quick edit: i had a friend pick up the game a while ago and they've never played on before and they had said the game was pretty difficult for them, but again that's because they're learning the game.

It's a difficult game.
It's not *as* difficult as previous monster hunters thanks to the super moves and nigh infinite mobility of silk bugs which set it aside from most of the series, but, it's not like it's easy.

It's about rhe same as past MH titles, just that they have much better progression. Past titles, you'd constantly hit walls, in this game, the monster selection allows you to better ease yourself into the harder fights. The return of singleplayer-only low rank village also helps new players get their gear and give them good practice instead of being sorta thrown into the fray. Folks saying high mobility from silk bugs removes skills, despite the fact jumping is hardly used in combat, and folks saying "big super moves", despite the fact that majority of weapons have had big super moves for years, dont fully understand how Rise works.

And the fact that hub quests are now solo scaled as well

You can sheath your weapon with wirebugs after you get hit from *any* move and use it to zip out of reach and quickly heal. Sure, for a lot of grabs this is *intended* to avoid the final hit. For the majority of moves in the game though? No. How does that have no impact on difficulty?
You're saying no one takes a hit down to almost zero HP and makes use of wirebugs to get out? And that those wirebugs *never* impact whether they successfully get out?
Really?

Ah, yes. The greatsword being able to have a gap closer which also gives stagger immunity and a damage reduction has zero impact on the difficulty of using the weapon. How silly I am to ever think such an insane thought.
What? Me use the greatsword outside of rise? I can't. I need the super moves to be able to use it effectively. b-but that's not because the super moves make it easier or anything!

Rise is easier. I don't *care* that it's easier. I like using the greatsword and it'd probably be years before I could in any other game.
But it's easier. There's stagger immunity, damage reduction, and mobility out of the wazoo and that helps at the end of the day.

Does well how, exactly? You pick up the zweihander from the graveyard at the very start of the game, the knight shield from undead parish, and nothing in the game outside a few bosses can ever do anything to you.

Shoulder bash was in the previous game.

Not referring to shoulder bash. Shoulder bash also doesn't let me finish doing my hit. I do not do enough DPS to kill the monster when I use greatsword in the old games because my planning and positioning are potato and I regularly miss or need to shoulder bash out.

I've also taken down monsters entirely from using the greatsword leap if I don't feel comfortable thwacking them normally. 'DPS loss' doesn't hold if I can still kill it with time to spare.

Also the flurry mode. Don't forget that. Much faster hits, still has stagger immunity on the low spins if you need it. I also regularly use it when I wouldn't feel comfortable using regular greatsword. (Because it's easier to use) ((Because rise is easier)) (((which is fine, but call it what it is)))

Oh, greatsword also has kick in this game. Absolutely insane, OP move. For that alone man.

This game is too easy, but so is dark souls so maybe it'll be fine.

While we're here I'll also mention item restocks. Those aren't exclusive to rise, but they are new.
I imagine most veteran hunters don't make much use of them, but there's no denying having nigh infinite items changes things.
I regularly restock flash bombs for a noob friend of mine and pop one every time he shouts 'oh god I'm going to die!'. Happens more than five times a hunt, believe it or not.
Makes it easier to avoid carts. Which is fine- I'd probably be frustrated if it didn't. But, we did use the E word.

There's a few fights here and there that might be difficult but it's still a fun game.
Sunbreak endgame will find a way to kick your ass though

just reached AR100 and its brutal, getting almost one shotted at full health
Is the game easy? I'd say no, but it all depends on your skill level. I think this is the easiest MH game so far, but it's still not an easy game for the general populace.

Really? Cause I haven't experienced this. Do you use ranged weapons? Oh or do you not gather any health spiribirds? That'd explain it too.

Green Spiribirds collection is important. If you take the shortest route to collect them, it will only take about a minute. I think people who join the quest from the middle of the quest should definitely collect GreenBirds alone. Below is a video of collecting Green Spiribirds by the shortest route, which I hope many people will find useful.

If you have 250 physical strength, you will not die from one hit by any attack.

I wouldn't get it cause it's so freaking barren. Very little content, not much to hunt compared to other monster hunter games, and their new updates don't add anything new besides better quality of life. Which is pointless cause you can't add life to a dead game.

I agree with you about the lack of content too. However, I expect that the April update will not be the last and that there will be another one in June. I think the content shortage will be resolved by then.
