the artificial difficulty is beyond disgusting
absolute nonsense , there's no such thing as positioning in this game when the monsters are doing AOE combos that track you as you move around

Scorned Magnamalo does 3 tail blasts in a row and the last one has an explosive follow up just in case you survived the 3 initial blasts.....like wtf man.... all these quadruple attacks and combos which are stupid hard to avoid and deal a ton of damage it's so cancerous

Malzeno and Scorned Magnamalo are so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cancer with their dumb DBZ attacks

Can't really say I had issues with either of these monsters but I play on switch so maybe the fps or something makes them track better.

i barely managed to solo the Malzeno and Lucent Narga arena quest, only after the 3rd attempt , when Malzeno shows up and you have them both coming at you there's literally no safe place to stand and no time to attack everything they do is like impossible to avoid on foot , u have to ride your palamute around and use the flash bombs to stop the madness and finish off Narga quickly that's the only solution i have found....

then i went for the Malzeno and Scorned Magnamalo quest which should be easier since you're not stuck with both of them in a small area and i still failed the quest, their attacks just deal too much damage and have too much AOE and follow ups, the slightest miscalculation and the slightest bad luck and you just cart... it's like everything that can go wrong will go wrong

and it's not like i can't kill Scorned Magnamalo i solo'd this bastard alot to unlock his weapons but it doesn't matter if i know what to expect he still carts me like 2 times out of 5

it's like they designed these monster attacks by analyzing all the possibilities of where a player could stand and move around so that there's a high chance you won't be able to avoid , react or anticipate the attacks

this is why there's so much 360 cheese attacks in the end game monsters, like quadruple jumping tail attack, and spinaroonie headbutt into hellfire blast... these attacks are meant to cover large areas and distances and cart a group of 4 players

saying there's no positioning in this game is pure ignorant.

scorned and malz are cool monsters, they don't have bs move like some other monsters you just need to fight them more. the 3x tail stab is the most easiest attack to dodge... first two stabs you dodge toward the direction of his head, the last you can just run away or get into under his face, you can even interrupt the third attack if you deal enough dmg.

but i agree with you arena quests are such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game design, fighting multiple monsters at the same time in a small area is stupid i don't find what's fun about that.

Always imagine that all monsters's attack are a sphere aoe from the center of their bone design. I've come to speculate this because monster's attack still connect even if you are above em and they do a tackle or sweep attack (i.e Tobi/Anja/Mizu/Kulu/etc).
