DRM for DLC
but capcom cranked up security measures and it looks like it is impossible right now

do you even own a jailbroken switch which would be required for these method while capcom still resists to create these options by themself
I still don't understand the logic behind this because they could charge a fee for the service, but people would possibly demand tranfer of their fancy cosmetic dlc's, which means less cash through double dipping
lets see what the fancy gamepass version brings, when you can play the game on pc and xbox while no access to the steam version...
contact your senator and complain about these shady business tactics or try one of the consumer organisations

but big corp will simply ignore the country or public outcry, if it is too tiny

Mind: it is not limited to just Capcom. Pretty much all games which do not have server-side save games and features for cross-play are under the same limitations when different OS/platforms are involved.
R* made bad experience with file transfer from jailbroken ps3 to pc for example
I would not got so far as that is the real issue. Maybe for modders and alike.
Aside from the DRM, there is rarely a need for a converter for a game, as cross-play/cross-save is more useful and more reliable.
Putting aside user issues with convertors, it is too much of an effort for the little number of users to begin with.
Also, I remember Capcom actually offered a converter for one of their MH titles. I think it was for the Switch port where you could import a save game from your DS.
No matter how you look at it, that does not sound right. Otherwise people could copy their game simply from the Nintendo Switch to PC without issue by that logic of yours. At least those with access to a hacked version of the console, for which also mods work.
For us in the US, we had the ability to move our saves from the 3DS version of MH3U to the Wii U one via the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Data Transfer Program.
When Generations Ultimate released on the Switch, players of Generations on the 3DS could transfer their progress using the Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate Save Transfer App, which would link the 3DS and the Switch, upload the data to Capcom's servers, which would then download said save data onto your Switch copy of the game.
I do agree that cross-play compatibility would also be valuable, but the other guy isn't wrong in saying they've done this before.
