Maybe one day. As it stands, Capcom already stated that they intend to make PC their main platform. And considering the sheer brand equity Capom possesses thanks to IP's like Resident Evil and Monster Hunter -- two IP's alone whose monetary value is probably impossible to calculate specifically, but likely in the billions. So, Microsoft would have to be willing to pay Capcom a LOT of money in order to add those games to their service.

Considering Gamepass is aimed more towards making XBOX a device-agnostic platform -- in other words, it doesn't matter if you're on Xbox Series S, X, or PC, if you're using Gamepass, you're playing on Xbox -- and because of that, just because you game on a PC, doesn't make Gamepass or Steam the same gaming platforms.

Now, as long as Gamepass is mainly Saas (software as a service) based in its business model, whereas Steam is aimed towards a demographic who prefer to make one-time purchases, it's only natural Capcom would choose Steam over Xbox as its main platform. At least... for now. If Microsoft wants Capcom games on Xbox, they have the money to pay for it -- but will they spend that money? Maybe, maybe not. But at this point, it seems unlikely.

EDIT: Looks like I spoke too soon. As of 3 days ago, it's been confirmed MH:Rise is coming to Xbox (including day 1 Gamepass release). Looks like Microsoft was willing to pay a premium for an IP as lucrative as Monster Hunter -- something I did not expect, but am pleasantly surprised to see. see here: https://www.gameshub.com/news/news/monster-hunter-rise-sunbreak-coming-to-playstation-xbox-game-pass-january-2023-35745/

The only reason why there is no cross play or cross save, is because Capcom does not have a personal server system, they use whatever their host's servers are (they use the Steam servers, which is why MH's servers go down on Tuesdays, and they were the first game to use Nintendo's new servers). Other big games use another company's server system, Hades, a popular example, uses Epic Games' servers, which is why they can go PC to Switch with save data. Or Overwatch uses Battle.net. Fortnite uses Epic's, but Sony actually specifically demanded they keep Sony servers separate from the rest, despite being crossplay (Sony even declared it was a bug when there was a weekend PS owners could play with Microsoft, PC and Nintendo players).
So, until Capcom sets up a dedicated server and account system, we wont get crossplay or save.

There are already many other game which can be played through gamepass sadly lacking the crossplay feature to steam

isn't microsoft at war with valve about market shares so i doubt this will happen

Are all capcom games dont have crossplay? Or is it only monster hunter? Because if im not wrong street fighter 5 has crossplay right? And re:verse also crossplay? But monster hunter was never been able to crossplay.
Forget to mention that most of console players always said pc players are cheater because of mods.

That is the farthest thing from the truth. There is some, almost akin to , bromance saga between MS Xbox games Head Phil Spenser and Valve's CEO Gaben. Currently, there are no standard software tools to translate connection between MS and Steam's servers. Crossplay adaption at this point is strictly reliant on if the primary game developer wants to develop their own crossplay netcode. Most devs don't want to go through this hassle. Epic games for for better or worse has crossplay tools. So you see games like Back 4 blood, Killing floor 2 and Rocket league (this one is no longer on sale on steam due to Epic) have crossplay.

lol you're not an idiot, it was my fault for adding question marks to the title. I almost kind of like it since I'll have a new character, I can play with other new people and discover things for the first time, if that makes sense.

Although, I still have MHW and Iceborne and I'm not even 1/4 through the og MHW story.... lol
I have a lot of Monster Huntin' to do.

gonna suck for gamepass players if there isn't crossplay, the multiplayer will likely be dead/not as active as it is on steam

I think it has a good chance to ignite a new wave because it is via Gamepass.

Same for Playstation players. Maybe even better than the playerbase on Steam which is easy to lose interest.

See, I agree with this. That's one of the reasons I stopped playing MH:W, everyone was so far up above me in level. Getting a new wave of people, not to mention people who never played or weren't interested, it'll bring new fans.
