Can you play solo/offline only?

Thinking about buying this expansion, but don't want to rely on online co-op missions.

Do you need to have online co-op to complete the game or have specific co-op missions that you can't complete on your own?

Can you have NPC party members besides your animal companions?

You can enjoy the game fully offline/solo. Some players do enjoy it that way even more.

With the expansion content there has been recently a feature released, which allows you to have NPC party members.

You totally can and in addition the latest update give you a feature to bring npc like hinoa, monito and the others to almost every quest!

Every content including achievements can be done 100% in singleplayer.

You will get 2 supporter (dogs/cats) as your hunting partner initially.

Once you reached certain point in Sunbreak DLC, you get to add another 2 follower (human NPC) to your team, making it Player + 2 animals + 2 NPC.

In recent days i play mostly solo as for some reason starting sunbreaks dlc i as a bow user get 90% of the aggro from monsters only in multiplayer. Does not happen playing solo and with followers so im recently playing only this way, so yeah its perfectly viable way to play, and unlike World you actually are offline IF you dont create a lobby.

Yes, personally I've never even touched MonHun's online features in any game
