Language setting & Match making

So I live in the UK but English is not my first language, I am perfectly fine speaking it yet when it comes to Monster hunter, I find it difficult to understand the skill and monster names.

I'm just wondering if there is a way to 'cheat' the game that makes it think I'm using English but shows another language in the game for me so that I can match with other English-speaking players. (I know I can change the download region, but I do wanna have matches in English, this would potentially help players who speak a rare language eg. Spanish (no offence to Spanish players: ))

thanks mate, I'm aware of this mod, I know it removes the region lock, but I was hoping to find other players' lobby cross languages, does this do that too?

Sort of. As far as I know, there isn't a way to trick the game into giving you the language of one region and the play area of a different region. This mod allows you to specify how large an area you want to matchmake in. Spain and England are relatively close to each other, so you can use this mod to give yourself a matchmaking net the size of Europe.

Sadly, that's about the best you can get for what you're trying to do.

I think finding lobby still tied to region lock, but idk i did not use the mod.

I see, I would say we might overthink about this tho. Instead of a mod that fixes this stupid matching mechanism, I'm actually trying to find a translation mod, where it simply shows a different language when the game is in English. But I've tried that mod and I think it helped when I send a quest help (as I take the quest for other players to join mid-way, honestly I don't even know if that mod could help this cause I'm the host, but it seems like I had a better luck finding helps after using this mod.)

Your displayed language doesn't affect your matchmaking whatsoever, if your download region in Steam is set to the UK then you'll be matched with players from around that area, even if your displayed language is Korean for example.

Oh thx, cus I actually dont know if the game language will affect random matchmaking, but I know for sure it will affect the lobby you can find. that's the main issue I'm hoping to solve; )
