Get it before end of November... Or you could just wait again on Christmas sale... Pretty sure this title would get discount often now...
If you like the basic combat mechanics, buy it; It's on sale for like 20 USD right now.
If you keep liking the game many hours in, buy Sunbreak.
I'd recommend you play it with friends.
It was worth all the time. Whether it is your liking or not, that is a different story. Try the demo or make use of Steam's refund policy and set a timer to 118 minutes after buying for that matter.
I think you will improve as you actually buy the game, not the demo version, and play with people who are good at multiplayer. The biggest problem with the demo version is that you can't really feel that.
If you want to choose between Rise and World, the main differences are that Rise is faster and has possibly the best fight design in the series, while World is more grounded and realistic. Rises greatest problem is that the game gives the player a bit too many options, so the game ends up being slightly easier than world, while World's problem is that the monster fights were lackluster if they weren't added in post-launch updates.
