3. There is some exception how it works. For example with WEX do lets day you have 50% crit chance from weapon. Weakness gives you another 30% crit but it only works if you hit monster weakness spots. So the total 80% if weak spot is hit otherwise its 50%.
So it's completely straight-forward, and if I have 40% affinity I have a 40% crit chance?
But there's also some rocket science behind it for those that know wizardry?

Keep in mind that affinity can go below 0 as well. Negative affinity works the same as positive affinity, except the you do anti-crits instead (do less damage instead of more). So if you have -15 affinity, each hit will have a 15% chance to do less damage than normal.
