The amount of effects is very distracting in multi, even after it was toned down.
Yea. Being 8bit doesn’t help either.
Damn even the sword hits feel impactful there, in Rise they feel pathetic. I used to think that World was just that much better in hit feel, etc. but maybe it's just Rise especially being bad with it after all.
I found World / Iceborne to only sound good if you were wearing headphones or maxed out your speakers equalisation...but in Rise the sound levels were just all over the place and nothing sounded right at all.
Sunbreak did make improvements over base Rise as far as I can tell, some attacks sound heavier or they added some background noise, but it's still a joke compared to old games.
Remember when swinging Mizu weapons made a bubbly sound effect? Even World and IB had some improvements like IG's triple up making all attacks sound heftier, as well as having insanely good elemental hitsound effects. I loved using water weapons because of the hitsound they made on hit, it really added immersion. Now in Rise, either my sfx are too low or the elemental effect sounds are turned down.
Not just sounds. But animations too.
Besides, I think the game has more pressing matters, does anyone else think Rise was a step down in terms of hitboxes?
The clinking and swishing does sound pretty good.
