That being said. It only considers speedrun. Things that have been repeated over and over and over again to achieve a desired result. So this graph only really shows what's best in optimal conditions. a decent lance main will still outdamage a bad gunner or GS player. At the end of the day pretty much none of us are speedrunners.
outside of speedruns you have much more downtime with melee, compared to ranged weapons.
However, I've also seen LS, GS, and SnS do relatively high DPS by comparison in random hunts.
We may not do the most dps, but when everyone else has to back up because the monster sneezes, we can just keep poke poking away until the thing is dead.
