yeah, i'd be very wary. This is like what, the 2nd or 3rd post on here where someone lost their saves due to steam cloud/ steam deck shenanigans?
If there's a file conflict between your local and cloud save, you should get a popup asking you which file to use. If you pick the wrong one, you're kinda screwed. Generally when closing games, steam needs a while to properly sync everything. If people just turn their decks off like a switch, I'm not surprised the steam cloud can't handle that.
Find the Folder named "77088486" in your steam userdata folder and look for "1446780" copy it somewhere else.. theres your local backup.
Honestly its ridiculous people dont make local backups.. steam cloud is for syncing across platforms and not for a backup which alot of people seem to think.
By doing that, you should have >99% of your savegames on steam.
If you are in a predicament where Steam asks you to load from Cloud or Local — because it didn't sync properly — almost ALWAYS load from Local, if you know the game is saved Locally on your device.
The only time you should reconsider is if you know the game does NOT have your Local save data, but you DO know that the files are within your Steam Cloud.
Examples of this might be you playing on a separate device or if you are playing on a new HDD/SSD and the save files don't exist on it.
Sucks to lose your save data though, especially in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Monster Hunter.
No need to worries, Popcorn. There was another such case mentioned on the forums before and the restoration of the save game went smoothly. It would need multiple steps to actually erase your progress like that.
his number wont be "77088486", unless I am mistaken that would be your ID number of your steam account so his would be under another random number but still easy enough to find.
and as you have said the folder for Rise is 1446780 so they just need to copy the save file or like in my case I just copy the entire folder to another location for back up purposes in case anything ever happens like OP
You are absolutely correct with their ID. It would be "28338306"
..\Steam\userdata\28338306\1446780
it is also amazing how capcom repeats mistakes, which were already solved in mhw.
They created a backup file for these issues and here we are again. different development team same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
it was the same complains as all these cypercafe users playing all the time on different machines without creating their own manual backup in mhw.
turn off the cloud and turn on the brain.
