Male or Female hunter
Probably an age old question but I'm playing as a male character rn and I'm wondering if the armors on look better on females. What do yall think?

Here's reasons to go either side:

Male: Armor almost universally looks more badass in vanilla. Closed helmets, no thigh gaps. Go this route if you wanna look cool over cute without many mods.

Female: Armor looks worse, but 99% of all modded layered armor you'll find online is gonna be for female. If you know you'll mod in armor designs, female is a solid choice. Go this route if you want cute/sexy over cool.

Obviously there are exceptions armor wise for each gender, but generally this is what I think.

There are no males or females in monsterhunter.

Yeah. That's just real life.

It's obvious, if you play on console, you make a male.

On PC with MOD? just look at how many skin is there for male. ZERO

When has it actually mattered enough to make any fuss about the armour designs, whether male or females have it better? Best to see it as optional variants everybody can pick for their preferences.

The game is about awesome battles with monsters. It is not like you focus on your character so much that you would actually notice that much that armour or body design matters. By the end of the day the voice makes it more noticable than armour.

I'd say female tbh. They just have way more variety when it comes to armour, because you have the sexy, cute, cool, badass and bulky. Males only have the last 2 for the most part. There's nothing wrong with that of course, but I wish males had some more sexy stuff. What they do have when it comes to that you can count on one hand. It would be nice if male armours actually showed some abs or some chest more often.
Agreed. Personally, I find more variety when it comes to fashion set making as well, for female. Already hav 30+ fashion loadouts set and nearly all of them are pretty different from each other.

this is going to sound suspiciously like a troll comment, or one meant to put down other people but it's a legitimate question that has piqued my interest in sociological identities since video game gender options became a thing.

for those who play as a females for the purpose of fashion, did you also dress up barbies growing up?

again legit question. and if the answer is no, ofc you did not, then please explain to me the difference between using different clothing options on your female character and choosing different clothing options for a barbie

You can have "cute" female armor sets with exposed thighs and stomachs that make zero sense protection-wise, or you can have actual, sensical armor.

Your decision will largely depend on if you're a weeb or not tbh.

Hurling 250 pound weapons - no problem
Having elephant sized monsters zipping around at the speed of sound - no problem
Surviving the bite of a T-Rex - no problem

But exposed thighs and stomachs - THAT'S where we draw the line. That makes zero sense realism-wise.

I did not dress up barbies, but I did have a large rubber T-Rex that I taped a top hat on to, from which i stole from my sisters barbie set.
No idea if there would be a difference.

I didn't dress up barbie dolls I just buried them neck deep in the back garden and then drove a lawn mower over them. :winter2019surprisedsnowman:

Legos, Bionicles, Mega Blocks, etc. pretty much fed into where I love customizations in general, growing up. Which lead into luving fashion hunting in MH.

Digital lights on a screen are that.
Males and females exist, and have led all of prominent civilization.
The internet was a mistake.
