Dear Lance Mains, What is your Second Weapon of Choice?

Fellow Lance Main here who can't decide what to main as their second weapon. Nothing is feeling as good as Lance :'( I <3 Insta Block too much!

Bow. Both weapon have great mobility and consistent DPS on the monster. Also both weapon "poke" the monster with a pointy stick. Dodgeblot is a great if you like using Instablock since they both work kinda the same. If you dodgeblot right when the monster attacks, it acts as a counter that gives you full charge level for your bow.

I jump between, Sword and Shield, light bowgun and Hunting Horn support.

I also like to weeb it up with Longsword if I get really bored.

I aint a lance main but i would suggest Switch Axe, but since you love blocking that much then i suggest Charge Blade.

I am just a Doot main and SA alt.

If you like Instablock then Guard Points on Charge Blade are also pretty fun.

bow/lance

Bow and Heavy Bowgun (shield). Both highly aggressive and don't care what the monster is doing, allowing nonstop engagement.

Tried out the Bow, man I wish dodgebolt's window was a bit more flexible. Felt too short to justify the risk. I find it harder to dodgebolt then insta block, donno if that's just my lack of experience with the weapon or the frames are tighter on bow or it has something to do with hurtboxes that I never had to get use to as a Lancer.

I tried CB a lot yesterday but my Lance brain seems to be getting me punished a lot using CB. It hits harder than lance but it's not as flexible as I'd want it to be.

Gotta give SnS a go later on.

get evade extender on bow you dont need to counter everytime

Picked up the hammer again after leaving it completely in World. Felt real good pounding away at Narga like the good old days of Unite. Don't got my Butterfly armour this time around but do got my evasion window and distance, so at least I'm still rolling through tail swipes.

Evade extender 1 is kinda needed for Dodgeblot if you feel it to be short. More if you want to slide around the monster.

Hammer is my second favourite, and in Sunbreak I've also played around with Sword & Shield and Gunlance (though that one took a bit of getting used to as it looks like a Lance but moves completely differently).
