At worst it feels like a 2nd colour palette to show them they are stronger. At best the additional movements make them somewhat different. But still too little to be considered interesting enough.
Though in fairness: if I have to decide between a Rathian and an Emergency Apex Rathian quest, I would always pick the latter since it is more interesting.
If the Apexes are truly left behind and their fights not implemented or changed into those new tough endgame monsters in Sunbreak then I'll be sad. I know reusing old designs and fights is questionable, but Deviants deserve a second chance on PC with a more fleshed out ticket system. Apexes did not grant them that second chance, I hope Sunbreak will do it.
Having Apex equipment as an end-game grind would be nice too. I enjoyed getting the color shaders for my equipment and chasing that big crown, as well.
TBH, I see Deviants returning more and more, especially since Stories 2 featured them out of nowhere.
I'd like for the endgame monsters in Sunbreak to have a unique theme, I know Deviant theme grew old after the 100th time hearing it, but it emphasized that those monsters weren't your average hunt, just like the alternate "spotted" sound.
Say Sunbreak endgame monsters are in essence just Apexes under a different name and instead of Ibushi's winds being their origin it will then be Malzeno's Bloodblight or whatever, they could just reuse the currently criminally underused Apex theme and use that for the MR "Apex but not Apex" monsters.
Ah yeah, man. I loved using the Dreadqueen and Soulseer pigments. Those would definitely be cool additions to have return. I specifically used the Bloodbath pigment on my Bloodbath killer set that I used to help people going for their big crown, lol.
i was so hyped for apex diablos and emergency apex diablos, but he's just no bloodbath diablos. he lacks the special tailcut and hornbreak, the big explosions, the actually scary roar into charge combo and he just looks like a weird oily diablos.
i still really like apex rathian and apex zinogre. apex rathalos is also growing on me. dunking them with greatsword is really satisfying.
Fail on capcom's part
Sad that they give no real reason to grind except a 1% increase of gems as rewards.
More fun then grinding tempered from MHW.
Only cuz they have different moves.
I would not XD Health augments where to OP in world
