this HBG build shoots sticky ammo twice as fast?!

but somehow in this video the sticky ammo is being shot twice as fast... how is this possible? also he is taking 2 buddies on a hub quest. while i can only take 1 ??

can someone explain this?

the video is a year old tho, did they nerf the firing rate of the hbg or something?

I dunno about the twice as fast bowgun.. but as long as you dont start the quest in online mode you can use 2 buddies.

how you mean not in online mode.. you mean doing the quest without a 'join request' ? i tried that ofcourse already.
so i guess you mean playing the game totally offline?

Yeah well if you didnt start a lobby at the curier cat and you dont start the quest with the "join request" option.. yes.

oooh seriously i didnt even knew that was a thing, i was indeed in a lobby when i tried the quest solo

btw, in the video the dude is having the blitz scroll on both his palamutes, which makes the palamute attack faster, dunno if this is causing the player to shoot faster also. will try now

It was nerfed. Rajang's HBG can no longer get low recoil on sticky 3. There's a couple in MR that can, but they got 2 round magazines vs the 4 of rajang's, and their damage scaled poorly into MR.

If you really want to play this type of build early on, Anjanath's LBG would be your best choice. You need 3 recoil mods + the silencer to get low recoil on sticky 3s. And it's only got a 2 round mag. Post game, the Antique Machina HBG can get low recoil on sticky 3s with a 2 round mag, and it also has level shot cluster 3s on average recoil with a 2 round mag. It also has wyvern ammo, and wyvernheart (the minigun). However, its DPS is not that good. I can even beat my kill time with it using Lance (although I'm pretty good with this weapon). The average lance player won't.

Sticky/Clusters still get a good amount of synergy with other gunners in multiplayer. Other gunners most likely won't get knocked back by the clusters if they're pierce or elemental, and the extra KOs will allow them to hammer the monster with max DPS shot positions.

Worth noting that recoil on certain ammo types appears to be bugged as of the recent hotfix. I'm seeing 'low' for my slicing ammo while in town, and it jumps to 'high' as soon as I'm in a hunt...
