I hope the next game skips Kushala Daora
Ever since I first hunted this elder down in freedom unite (Mon Hun 2 Ultimate for reference)

I've always hated fighting this creature, its wind pushing you to the ground, the tornadoes it creates and everything about it. I especially hate the rusted version which was just a bigger more annoying hp sponge. Still I persisted and when World came along and it looked like a rework was in order I was intrigued. Unfortunately the rework sucked and I still hate fighting it.

In fact I don't know any people who actually like hunting this creature, yet for some reason it seems to be in almost every game alongside Rathalos and Rathian. Do you like fighting it?

So for Monster Hunter 6th gen I would greatly appreciate if this creature does not appear. Ive never liked fighting it in any iteration including rise which has the least stupid mechanics for it.

Rise and World both have way better elder designs and I would much prefer a Velkana, Malenzo, Nerg or even Val over a Kushala any day of the week. Im sure there can be another wind creature that could be made that fits the purpose and provides decent ice weapons as well.

On a side note, I would love 6th Gen to not have a Rathalos or Rathian either. Kind of tired of fighting them and there are a lot of other Poison and Fire monsters that could be utilised to take their places or even create new ones. Please bring Underwater combat back as well!

Just wanted to provide some other variety to the forums cause it seems quite limited these days.

But we need an excuse for Windproof to exist.

Its crazy how really dope elders like Yama Tsukami, Dalamadur, Amatsu, etc, keep getting passed over because EVERY monster hunter game needs to have its annoying crowd-control wind dragon that NOBODY liked pre-Rise and people TOLERATE post-Rise, and the generic fire lion that has been existing and spamming fire AOEs for over a decade.

Why did you not mention his rework in Rise? Because the fight is a lot better now. Same goes for Rathalos.

I think the Elder trio needs to take a break for an entire generation. This way, they are allowed to introduce a lot more new elders to the franchise.

Rathalos and Rathian? Can't imagine a MH game without them. I'm surprised you are not complaining about certain flagships that appear in almost every MH game.

Yes the fire lion could use a break as well to be honest

Well I would like all flagships that appear in every game to have a break. To give us a different Diablos, Rathian, Rathalos etc

Yes they have all had reworks but the core of the fight is still the same though Rathalos new move was pretty good ill give it that.

Same goes for Kush, yes it had a rework which I briefly mentioned but I still dont enjoy hunting it as at its core its still the same Wind Dragon just with a few different moves.
i love kushala lmao, one of my favourite elder dragons. he doesn't deserve what they've done to him in world :/
now, you know what monster i'm truly sick of seeing every single game? Fatalis. "he's the ELDER of ELDERS!!" Yeah. Elderly. Where is the next generation of black dragons damnit, this old man is older than the very grass itself, makes me shudder every time i see more people clamouring for his return again and again and again. please just let him diieee
its 2022 we're supposed to be a progressive society

the biggest thing about reworked Kush is nothing to do with new moves, it's the fact that you don't get shoved to the ground every time you try to approach him. it's the fact that the fight is actually playable instead of needing to stay as far as possible to avoid the garbage wind aura.
still a kinda generic fight, but there's much worse elder dragons that could be returning, my first Mon Hun was 3U, and between Ceadeus and Jhen Mohran that game did not handle elder dragons well.

...Yeah I'm not a fan, but it's more manageable in this game, like...the wind barrier is way less annoying here. I get the dreadful feeling that we may end up getting Rusted in one of the updates...I only fought that once and in 4U that thing was a nightmare.

Yeah thats not surprising, Gen 3 was one of if not the weakest for Elders. Base 3 had 3 Elders while 3u only added variantions of those plus Dire and I guess Abysal Lagi was almost considered an Elder

While it is nice that you dont get knocked down when running up to hit it anymore in my opinion the fight still isnt great hence why I would like them to skip it next game.

As a HH main he was annoying in world. Then I got windproof and the entire party could ignore his zoning. That and clutch clawing his face to oblivion kept knocking him out.

As a dual sword in mhfu, I can only hit Kush head at max reach without getting pushed by its wind aura. F**k it eternal schism

Yep mhfu Kush was a true nightmare for any melee users, doubly so for rusted

While I would second the Rath bit, it's just not gonna happen. They're the Mario and Luigi of Monster Hunter. We will ALWAYS have to fight them in every Monster Hunter. At least in Sunbreak we don't have to fight their entirely family lineage...yet. Just the base and Apex forms.

In Generations Ultimate for example we had Rathalos, Rathian, Azure Rathalos, Pink Rathalos, Dreadking Rathalos, Dreadqueen Rathian, Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian.

I will never forgive Capcom for Hyper Silver Rathalos.

Kush is now a really good fight, don't be like that man.

....Technically Gen 3 had 4 elders, one of them just never came to the West until Generations/GU, lol
