When to start Sunbreak?

I have about 200 hours in the vanilla game on switch and recently bought the MH Rise/ Sunbreak package deal on steam. I've just defeated Narwa and now have access to the dlc.

My question is, should I stick around in HR for a bit and farm decos? Or would it just be more efficient to hop into MR and get the DLC underway? Wasn't sure if it would be better to hit HR 20+ and do some more quests/ finish the story, or start building the new armors and weapons

Your HR still goes up when you do MR quests, so if you start doing Sunbreak content, you'll end up eventually unlocking the post-game stuff for HR anyway.

What about decos? do they still take HR monster parts to craft, or will MR parts work as well

You'll get access to higher level versions of decos that require MR parts, but until you unlock them you'll still have to use HR parts for HR decos.

It's not that big a deal unless you're dead-set on starting Sunbreak with a specific build in mind. The first few MR's are pretty easy, even if you're using HR gear.

There are some in basegame that will definitely help you out in the long run, might want to get some of those first imo

Mostly the lvl2 decos and also depending on what you're using.

Most good decos aren't out yet, so you'll go back to HR to farm them sooner or later. Or go to the expansion using mostly armour skills (and they're mostly all over the place).

Most MR armours have a lot of lv2 deco slots, so farm the most useful ones for the weapon you're using

when you hit 450+ armor

[Mandalorian Deathknight]

and there are lv 4 decos that has 2-3+ in this ability in them also
