maybe restart whole pc? i've read that verifying hasn't helped either so as last resource try a clean reinstall

Did you use an app like RevoUninstaller and Display Driver Uninstaller?

Naturally delete anything Reframework related before updating and launching, it should be those in the game install/launch folder :

• The whole "reframework" folder for mod support.
• dinput8.dll (It's Reframework itself.)
• Then any ".pak" file that isn't "re_chunk_000.pak" from the vanilla game.

Just in case verify files, restart Steam/PC, and it should be good.

So I was able to get past the crash issue if you ignore the crash reporter and get into the game then create a new character and load in then quit/close the game. It loads now with no issue on startup and I can play on my actual character with sound and things working.
