If it's 4 of us and the reward is 10k, it shouldn't reduce it THAT much, right? I mean... Getting under 1k for a clear in HR5 is kinda wack, 4 players or not.
You do not make income in multiplayer by quest rewards. You make Zenny with trade-in items and monster parts. And yes, it does reduce to insignificance.
but other then that i couldn't tell ya
This. I could probably make 4 million zenny with items in my box.
Bones ores are great to sell too.
Look up the “ore loop”.
I just didn't think I'd hit a roadblock for making new gear just by doing quests and stuff, lol. It's just so weird, man. Soloing the bosses isn't really worth it since it takes forever and a day, but you get punished for playing with others, even though that's encouraged.
I'm out here doing all the quests and stuff, and they're just like "stay poor omegalul", rip. What even is that? Shouldn't you be REWARDED for completing quests? How do they expect you to keep upgrading your gear when you're getting peanuts for a reward and they're charging you like 9k or more once you hit HR6?
There's no way this can cover the cost, lol. My storage is almost full right now, but I have NO idea what I can actually sell, so that doesn't help.
It has geologist on it.
you don't *require* any skill to go farming items, only if you want to be the most efficient at it. going on an expedition that has mining upsurge will give you x3 of every item you mine, geologist skill only gives you 1 extra (which is an extra 3 with the upsurge i guess idk i haven't done it much). you can check the upsurges on the second page of the quest info
you can get geologist decorations or a talisman with the skill if you want it without making an entire new set, depends on what you want to do
you can pretty safely sell anything you don't use, ie. if you're a melee user you can sell all your ammo that stocks up in your box magically from somewhere, also if you have over 100 of any material you can probably afford to get rid of a couple of them. the consumables are really the only thing you need to keep (any pots, drugs that buff you, traps, herbs, honey, godbugs, anything else you think is important)
also check if you don't have a stock of like 300 of those jewels you use to craft decorations with. i doubt you're going to make 300 decorations any time soon so there's some more free money there
the stuff you gather most often just in random hunts in my experience are bones and ores, so you can sell a lot of them very safely (also your item box isn't getting full it magically grows in size the more stuff you have BTW)
i recommend not upgrading any armour unless you have a good set with very good skills that you know you will use for a long time, bit of a waste of money otherwise. Endgame elder dragon armour pieces cost 100k+ each to max upgrade if you want a comparison here lmao
i played through the entire game solo and i still struggled with money pretty often so hopefully this long comment helps in some way
... what are you talking about...?
You do not need to do this

You just need to do this

The amount of trade in items you get that way is so much you get roughly double or triple the amount of Zenny you would get from quest rewards over the time span of 10 hunts. It might be a little luck dependant, but the average output is really good. You have trade in items from Rondine and the nest, and monster drops from the Meowcenaries which scales up when when you switch from Low Rank to High rank, getting drops worth easily 10k Zenny per hunt - that is when you go for the high value stuff.
Combine that with hilarious quests like the mentioned Sonic event quest and you have an easy time making Zenny. Just do that routine while you doing normal hunts and you already have an easy time making Zenny while not intentionally making Zenny.
If you are confused about what to sell, keep it easy.
Monster parts you do not need to craft anything end up mostly as melding ingredients.
If you want to be on the safe side do something like "keep 10/20" of one ingredient, sell the rest - with an exception for super shiny rare materials" e.g.
When have you ever need for 100+ ore X in your inventory? well knowing it just piles up that easily. Or 120 Zinogre fur etc. etc.
If you ever run out of Zenny, it is not because the quest rewards are that low. It is because you overlooked or misunderstood some of the game mechanics. You have here people helping you with tips, which goes beyond the confirmation "yes, yes, the quest rewards are that low when you go multiplayer" - I do not even think they are high in singleplayer despite you easily get over 20k later on. But what are 20k quest reward for a difficult quest when you can just as well get 10k in average for doing just the post-hunt-routine after every quest? Especially considering how fast you complete quests in multiplayer.
I realized I've been hoarding pretty much everything, so I just sold like half my storage and now I have close to 400k, so I should be good for a little while, lol. I should also note I don't use the buddy system or the "meowcernaries", or whatever they're called, so that might have something to do with it too.
I just whatever I have on me and upgrade my gear when I can. I've just been using my base dog/cat I got at the start of the game. That's it.
