Mind's Eye
So I decided to make a build with it against afflicted rajang since people have told me that it works the best when Rajang powers up.... now I'm nit sure what they ment by that, or if afflicted rajang is different... but I don't consider 13 damage on his arms with max minds eye any good, compared to sneak attack.

It took me 20 minutes to beat him because focusing on the front is the better hit zone, although to be fair I did use embolden so he was way more crazy then normal..

At this point with IG anyways Minds eye seems like a dead skill, which sucks because I wanted that skill to be atleast some what useful

Your intuition is correct, mind's eye is not very good!

The point of Minds Eye isn't to do amazing damage on hard parts, its to not bounce off them and get locked into the rebound animation when you hit them by accident.

I wish it was, I can see it working well if there is an option to break parts under the hard coating and getting true damage through then yeah, it could be a great skill.... but 13 damage on rajang's arms... my god. If I'm worried about deflection now I'll just slot in 1 and be done with it.

Yeah I'm just slotting one in, 3 is just useless.

I have Mind's Eye 2 because IG swings are wide enough to constantly clip the arms which is annoying, Lance doesn't have to deal with this problem at all. But now with two points I can just slap his 30 ice head in with like 90 ice+ele exploit+ele crit 3.

Way easier to get his Afflicted drop as opposed to fighting Afflicted Pyre, I like that with Afflicted Rajang you don't even have to focus the tail anymore and can just knock him out of Afflicted and thus rage mode by hitting the head.

Yeah that's not bad, I like the 20% attack boost from sneak attack, because while he's sitting there doing his beam I can attack him, plus it's super easy to get back there, you just roll under him.

Edit: I find sneak attack works great with both Pyre and rajang, as pyre changes his head position from back to front, so it's just super easy to get off damage, and trigger sneak attack.

I dunno if Sneak Attack even triggers when you can hit Rajang's head, and hitting anything else already loses you more damage than Sneak Attack would provide you.
On Pyre it could be decent but for IG Silver is pretty much the only real matchup for it.

I guess it could be good on elemental Dual Blades to hit parts that make you counce but have really good element values, such as the claws of both Raknas.

Unfortunately, most tough spots with good element hitzones, such as Narga's arms, Almudron's claws, or Mizu's front claws, don't make you bounce which makes mind Eye useless.

I mean your just doing normal damage that you get from your weapon with the head, but the back gives you added damage. which I think would balance it out. I would need to test it.

Pyre I've been testing out different builds, and sneak attack just beats a lot of them, his butt train attack after dodging he turns his head around and boom sneak attack activate. Jump attacks and wyvern dive does better damage also.

Rajang's head already takes so much more raw and elemental damage that hitting it will always outperform Sneak Attack's bonus when hitting his back parts. You'd have to somehow hit his head and activate Sneak Attack which I don't think is possible.

Alternatively you can try sniping his tail during rage which then takes almost the same damage as his face, but good luck hitting that and out of rage, which Afflicted is a lot, the tail isn't a good hitzone.

Maybe from the middle of him facing towards his head from the back, but I doubt it.

You were right about that tail, I hit harder there then I do the head, it also disables him.

Yep this is exactly right. Mind's eye is one of those skills where even when you have it, you are still trying *not* to make use of it. So once you get good enough at doing that, it gets tossed.

I only use minds eye for basarios otherwise its really not needed for much else
