This just started to happen recently, where my game starts up on my other monitor. Yea i can turn off my second monitor, the start the game, but i dont want to have to do that every time. Does anyone have a fix.

It's been happening to me randomly as well. It also switches to fullscreen instead of borderless.

Same to me here. The only solution I found is to unplug the second monitor.

Try and set the config to read-only.

Put it in windowed mode, move it to the other monitor, then back into fullscreen. My output setting always resets, but I'm able to consistently change my default monitor by doing this

Go into display options and change the monitor. Case closed.

Do you think this thread would exist if it STAYED on the monitor you set it to? Are you dumb?

If the fix was that easy, people wouldn't still be having the problem. That's probably why you got the clown.

It's also been a recent issue for me; from what I can tell, it's happening the first time I launch the game per PC boot. The game will properly remember which monitor to use if I haven't turned off my PC between sessions. What's weird to me is that in the game's graphic settings, the game properly defines my primary monitor versus secondary / third; it's just choosing to launch on the second monitor for whatever reason.

I need to test it again, but one thing I can remember trying, is making sure Steam is active on the same monitor I want the game to launch with, when launching the game. This worked once, but it may have just been an instance of not having restarted my PC since the last session, and I forgot.

plug your primary monitor cable to the 1st "socket" (dont know a better word) on your gpu and it should naturally fix any issue like this

how to know if your primary monitor is not in the 1st socket is if you see when your pc boot that a secondary monitor show the image first
