Can you use the wirebug with your bowgun out?

It seems like people are in videos but I can't find any button combo that lats me use the wirebug with my bowgun out (for both light and heavy bowguns)

LT+Y does a thing, though I don't remember what. I main HBG and never use it.

Don't ranged weapons use a different button-combination for wirebug moves? At least, I think they do.

If they do, just go to the training area to check them out.

On controller, RB is sheathe and sprint. Maybe one of those on keyboard.

Isn't RB the, well, run button? It'll just make you sheathe your weapon immediately, iirc. Or is that also changed for ranged weapons?

the "correct" sheath button is Square/X technically, when the weapon is put away RB is still sprint

I was wondering that as well, i was looking at some videos and i cant seem to be able to use the silkwire on heavybow gun

RB also functions as a sheathe button though, at least for blademasters, Also, that wasn't really an answer to my question.

it did tho? RB doesnt sheath with ranged weapons...

You use RB + Y/B to use wirebug with the LBG. You can check the weapon controls in game to make sure (in case you are using a different controller set up). I think it is in the Hunter's Notes. The RB+Y is a little weird. At first it looks like a dodge; the hunter throws the bug forward and gets pulled forward. You have to combine it with RT to complete the combo.
The RB+B combo throws you in the air where you can do a couple of different things, experiment to get a feel for it.

No idea what RB does for HBG, but I do know L3 is also sprint and does sheathe the HBG at least.

I havent used the HBG since the demo but if I remember correctly, it should be the same set up as with LBG.

They did some dumb stuff with the Keyboard controls for the ranged weapons in rise.
The "correct" button combo is "run+attack". Thing is, it has to be the hold run, not the toggle run.

Also, the hold run no longer sheathes the weapon for ranged keyboard users, which is why the run+button combo works.

It's all very silly, they really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the m+k controls in rise despite getting it perfectly in world.

i recommend reading the hunters info about your weapon but yes, rb+y and rb+b are your starter LBG wirebug moves
