Is there a way to change controller combat buttons? I want to swap A and B and X and Y.
I saw a youtube video of someone playing it and their A and B were swapped but I can't figure out how they did it,

Go into the options menu and look around, you should find an option that lets you do this incredibly easily once you just actually bother to do so.

Well I did, multiple times, in fact I was doing it just now, but since you are so sure, tell me, what is this magic setting called?

My guess would be they are either using a app, or maybe even steam controller configs. Also if they have a Xbox pro controller, you can remap buttons through their app as well.

As far as I can tell, unless you use a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller there's now way to get the Switch button layout using an Xbox controller. You can remap buttons within steam, but then the prompts in game won't be correct.

My single biggest criticism of this game is that they didn't add options to remap controllers in game. I hope fixing that is on their "to do" list.

the problem is that they made the button placement for stuff like attacks and item usage different from the console release, like why?

This should help despite it is specifically made for the Nintendo Switch Pro controller issue.

For some ungodly reason, B is back instead of confirm and A is confirm instead of back... X is attack even though its at the top and Y is use item even though its at the attack button area (all this on switch I mean). Its ass backwards. Buttons are right in terms of assignment but the button placement is wrong lol. guessing they didnt factor that in.
there are settings in-game (not on the main menu) that let you swap the buttons around. they do exist and have since release
