When you have the camps, wirebugging is usually the faster way to reach an area. Theres a few exceptions but you're only saving maybe 15 seconds a hunt from traveling on the dog. Some hunts you save no time.

I feel like I never end up riding my dog when I bring it. Either fast travel or going up and over is faster most of the time.

Gathering Palico as long as you farming anything, Fighter Palico or Palamute when you want damage, also Palamute when I'm doing Kamura point or mining runs.

If you utilise them right... most players seems to solemnly focus on gathering palicoes. They are not bad. Though I recommend you check out what a good assist can do in rampage.

Bring one Gather cat with buffs in Multi
it shares the Plunder loot with everyone else in the hunt, ez farm and it's not that much slower then dog after you get all the camps and learn the great bugs

Two palico. I'm just a cat person and made one of them after my own kitty. I'm doing what I did on the Switch too with two bomb cats with 5 bomb skills, status attack up, and blast weapons. It's pretty fun to me to see all the explosions. Noticeably helpful, too!

I'm in the process of getting two purrfect cats of each support type with all their matching support type skills. But, bomb cats are by far my favorite. I like to set them to Small First behavior and never having to worry about about small creatures charging in.

Doggos fast travel is nice and all, but you can't really beat palico utility and usefulness.

Dog allows for fast transport and better status application (via parasol which hits many times). Cat allows for more support tools, especially Gathering cats (which are flat out the best overall), giving you more loot, free traps, healing and so on. They both have their uses.

First comment pretty much says it all. When I'm online I swear my dog applies sleep faster than most people with sleep melee weapons.

after playing a while, I bring healer cat to dangerous stuff, gatherer for relentless grinding and the dog for anything else, kind of wish i could still ride the dog when i bring the cat though, but it's not that bad.
