Their animation and design alone encompasses and surpasses the entire quality of your average AAA game, lol. Kinda sad when a handheld game does that to mainline multimillion dollar budget console entries.
Thinking back to 2021 with all those high budget AAA games coming out being stripped of features from the start and promising to add basic things back months later. What a terrible year for AAA games.
It made the wait for Rise even harder than it needed to be, but glad the time has finally come. What a great way to start off 2022!
Honestly I didn't even know they had a B-team until I tried Rise and started looking into why it's so bad. I just thought Rise was a normal sequel.
Some missing context: I had a MHW save with 120+ hours in it and was hugely looking forward to Iceborne. Iceborne comes out, I buy it day 1, install it, and when I run it for the first time, it corrupts/deletes my character save and overwrites the cloud with an empty save. Of course I had no reason to expect something like that, but apparently Iceborne had a bug that would clap your entire save if you had not played World recently and therefore were not on the latest version. Tried to play, but honestly it wasn't any fun playing someone else's character on a downloaded save, and a full restart was too much given all the grinding.
So a lot of this . . . anger . . . is that I love Monster Hunter but Capcom has done me dirty two games in a row. Iceborne ended up being wasted money, never even tried it. And I doubt I'll be able to get into Rise, for the same reasons I had eventually drifted away from the series until MHW came out.
