Is the PC Version worth it?
I have Rise on Switch but I haven't played in so long I might as well start a new character.
My PC was bought 6-9 years ago and is basically a PS4 (maybe a tiny bit stronger) so I think it can run it.
My question is is it worth it though? I'm asking if anyone on PC double dipped from switch and found it noteworthy enough to jump back in.

Its worth it for the much better framerate performance and resolution quality. Try the demo to see if your PC can run it.

100%. I bought the Collector's Edition on Switch and I enjoyed my time with it, but the PC version is a completely different beast. Even if you can "only" hit 1080p/60fps it'll be a huge upgrade over the Switch version. Which GPU do you have? The game requires a DX12 compatible card and yours might not be if it's that old. You can always try the demo and see for yourself, for me there was no going back to the Switch version so I sold it on eBay.

I double dipped and no regrets.

The improved framerate made it worth it for me. There's a free demo you can try to see how it's going to play for you.

The game runs like a dream on my PC. Worth it! I played it on the Switch and I'm having a blast playing it again with my PC friends.

My PC can run Tales of Arise pretty well (fans go bananas though, but other than that it runs the game fairly well same with other similarly demanding games) I can run most Win10 games just fine. I can't run things in uber settings, but that 4K 200 FPS gaming isn't my thing anyhow. I'll give the demo a go and see how my PC handles it.

Hard to say for me
It was definitely worth it for me but I also doubledipped with world
World PS4 800+ hrs and pc I think around 300
Switch rise 300+ hrs
So what I'm trying to say is that monster hunter is pretty much an addiction for me so my judgement isn't as trustworthy

Just gave the demo a quick go.
My PC's fans do NOT like the game while it's loading up.
But once the game gets running proper (as in, actually in the game beyond the start menu) the fans calm down and run like normal.
I'll Probably pick it up next month (Pokemon Legends is my game for this month)

I probably won't be playing online until I shake off the rust,

Yes, I played 300 hours on Switch. And now on PC with SSD, 60FPS and M+KB playing a Bow is SUPER fun, buy it, or else...

Throw that switch in the trash

I've never fiddled with M+KB controls for this type of game. Does it take long to get used to them?

M+KB feels a bit clunky in most games to me for some reason, I usually play with them on MMOs tho.

If you have no friends on PC and you don't care about frame rate. Stick to the Switch.
ColonelBaker Jan 14, 2022 @ 1:17pm
After playing the demo I decided to stick with Switch. The higher frame rate and resolution is really nice but not worth having to go through the less exciting stuff again. Maybe down the road if it's cheap before Sunbreak comes out and I have nothing else to do. Also, the load times are really good on Switch and the 30fps is stable. The difference from PS4 to PC for MHW was much bigger and made going back to console unbearable. The difference for Rise isn't worth it to me.
