Is there a problem using the Album to recall the image you have taken and then Press F12 for the Steam overlay so it gets exported?
Disclaimer: I don't upload screenshots from games I play to Steam, so I am admittedly fairly ignorant about the process in general, but I know that the photos you take are stored as screenshots as well, so from a layman's perspective it seems like it would be a non-issue.
Does Gyazo let you go into first person mode or zoom the camera in-game to get shots you wouldn't be able to get otherwise? No? Well then I guess it's not the same thing, is it? Maybe you should stop being a moron like Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum up there, recognize the game could be improved, and stop offering stupid solutions.
Steam embeds metadata into each photo you take. If a photo doesn't have that metadata, Steam doesn't let you upload it. There are third party tools that let you add that info manually but they are clunky to use and add a lot of labor/time to what otherwise would be a process that takes a couple clicks.
Normally I just take a sceenshot per usual, with my default hotkey, if I want to post it on steam. This isn't just MH, it's normal. For a lot of reasons.
Steam saves the files in a particular folder, with a particular name, and also makes a thumbnail. It only accepts these files when you upload via steam.
You can manually recreate files that steam will use, but it is a pain in the butt.
The trick of renaming the files worked for me as of last month or so, not sure if they changed anything on steam since then. But renaming, and having a correct thumbnail have worked for years. But as you say, it's still clunky af. And you do want to have some donor images already saved that you can use as replacements...
Either way, yes it is a pain. But I never used a tool for meta data.
The album only has cropped photos that show the interface behind them.
You can press F12 and it's going to take a screenshot but it's a screenshot of the full screen of the game, and in game you can't have the photo you've taken in fullscreen, so you always see the hud and the menus behind the little square that is the original photo.
And you can't really upload something other than with F12 because steam won't show it, if you change the path or if you change whatever you want to change steam won't ever show your picture in the feed or anywhere else.
What you can do tho is publish it as an artwork but it's not as convenient. Honestly they should just have made the photo mode like World, it's was perfect idk why they changed that.
photoshop.
You realize that's what that section of your profile is for, right?
If you had any idea what you are talking about, you'd know that would end in a photo obstructed by the camera viewfinder lines. Please shut up. You are not smart or useful. Same with Seamus who I'm not even going to quote.
