I haven't done any Hub quests yet myself, so I assume on hub quests I'll be able to send an SOS flare for others to join me like in World?
And if i join a lobby, i'll only be able to join a quest if it's a hub quest, which i should be able to see and join via the quest board.
Is this correct? ( I am going to bed so don't have time to test)
the world concept are the new one, the hub is from the old gen, that how people group back in time
Yeah a lot of the (My first Monhun game is MHW) players are not familiar with MHR. Is there anything else you'd like to know?
Yeah, I remember reading reviews when it came out on switch that there would be a learning curve for MHW players.
Just to briefly touch on multiplayer again, I tried joining multiple lobbies and each time there didn't seem to be any way to identify what other players in the lobby were doing. Should there be some sort of indicator that tells me stuff like if other players are still in Kamura preparing or if they have already started a quest?
I am so used to just joining and sending an SOS...
Other than multiplayer, the only other mechanic I haven't quite figured out yet is the monster riding mechanic, I understand that you have to do the special sticky attack moves to weaken the monster but on charge blade those moves don't seem to do anything. I only managed to complete the riding tutorial thanks to the spider puppet bugs.
There is no mounting system like MHW. You deal a certain amount of damage to a monster and it gives you the availability to ride the monster using the new mechanic "wirebugs".
You can do 3 things "Spam Strong Attack >> Dodge"
"Hold on the run button" or "Go near a sandwiched wall and launch the monster and regain it's footings."
What is important though is that some monsters actually have status-inflicting moves mixed into this selection, such as poison or the various elemental blights, so using those is an excellent idea as it will give you a further edge once you're done with the riding.
Sometimes the special attack you can do once the bar is filled while riding, inflicts these statuses too, but not always.
I have over 500 hours in MHW and i still don't know how half of the mechanics in that game work haha. Hopefully there aren't any fights like Alatreon in Iceborne, I was never able to beat that prick >:(
Also maybe i overlooked it somehwere, but Rise does have SOS Flares(or did they scrap it from PC Version) but also HUB-Quests only, though i'm gonna be honest, i don't remember how you access it due i do them so rarely due i tend to play MH rather solo or with friends...
