Not bad. I like the idea in general. Feel free to copy over general tips from my notes

Thanks.
Will check out your guide then :)
Not really a guide what I have there. More just notes.
You can also encourage engagement by starting a thread with something like "Share your tips here" or "Things you wish you knew when you started" to get more input on what actual "tips" people have and want.
Not to be mistaken with walkthroughs and guides.
E.g. hitting the item lizard with kunai yielding you three items instead just one when you kick it - is everything but a guide, walkthrough or something you would look up in a wiki. It is a tip.
Or by making use of the loadouts, to have yourself a resourcful system like my refills which some people do not understand. It is a tip. Not a guide.
Hm... someone already contributed some of the camera tips. But with my notes I have more if you check the screenshots. The settings also alter the terrain matching etc.
Camera Shake: off
Camera Style: Do Not Focus on Target
Target Camera Controls: Type 3
Target Camera Vertical Settings: Don't Match Height
Focus Camera Restrictions: No Restrictions
Camera Terrain Adjustments: Off
Dynamic Camera Settings: Off
Camera Distance: 100
I wonder if Long Sword players need the hint to be considerate in multiplayer, or everyone needs to know about flinch free ability.
We're still looking on how to communicate efficiently on the product. Now that I read your suggestion, that's obvious but we didn't think about it before :OOO.
Thanks bruh

As written on the "guide page" - it might not fit everyone, but it gives me a lot of freedom of movement by "setting the camera free". For some it might be even a whole different Monster Hunter experience.
I recommend the video I have linked so you can check yourself whether the kind of handling is interesting or not to you:

Thanks for the update, i'll deal with it in the afternoon.
We do not currently support video as a reference for tips, but the development are already on the way and it should be released by the end of january.
Added some more to my guide - which you might want to copy over ~
About videos: keep it easy is my feedback for you and the developement team. Allow YouTube video embedding over implementing something self-made. That saves webspace, server resources and protects you from legal issues.
PS: add a moderator to take care of duplicate tips or allowing them to "enhance/beautify" tips contributed by anonymous. also a message when posting anonymous to encourage people registering would be nice. Something like ~
"this platform is currently in developement and we need your help to grow it - early users get a special badge as a reward, showing them being pioneers" something like that ~
Embedding yt videos and imgur images are what we aim.
Onboarding and gamification are coming next, this is not a full time job so we're moving forward on a tight schedule.
We're moderating the content by ourself at the moment, mostly hoping downvotes and engagement will deal with duplicates (but we sometimes have to intervene).
Thanks for the feedback m8
Downvotes will do it veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery late. When your platform has plenty of contributors and plenty of tips that an upvoted tip "floats" on top while downvotes get buried.
At the start it is really best to work with moderators. Imagine it something like this: a developer and creator can imagine what you are doing. They can imagine what potential and scale your platform can become, and how it can be a good alternative to wikis. It works basically like a "simplified reddit" but for short "twitter-like-texts" for tips.
Simple players have a hard time to see more than just a "hull" or "skeleton". So filling it a little and attracting users is important so it can grow well.
You might also take into consideration doing contests or cooperation with some streamers who enjoy playing Monster Hunter. Make them give giveaways to players for players contributing lots of tips they need to register on your platform for. And among the best five tips among the registered users there will be something like "cosmetic DLC" as incentive.
Anyroads ~ I am looking forward for how your platform developes. Until then: I am also adding more and more tips to my own notes you can use.
Happy hunting!
Gamification, collaboration with streamers / youtubers, enhancing onboarding are all on our roadmap, eventhough it requires a lot of time to setup.
We don't wanna replace wikis that have their role, nor streamers or youtubers. We really hate the content produced by all the "top 10 tips" article which are juste copy pasted things from elsewhere (or for example, french articles are litteral google translate of those top 10 articles).
We aim to be a kind of hub, where people that wanna get better to a game would start to check, seeking not only tips, but youtubers, streamers, external tools etc. Instead of starting with google and digging the right reddit post hidden somewhere.
You got it, for now we do not have enough incoming data to need other moderators than ourselves (we've got dashboard and backoffice to monitor easily everything so it's ok).
Always so nice to talk to pple and have feedback. Its kinda validating our vision (but we need MORE) :D.
Wow weird, I can check this is working fine on chrome, firefox, safari and chromium and on multiple computers / phones.
Are you using any specific browser other than that so I can check ?
Unless your server had a hiccup at that specific time, it is more likely you get results when checking if certain popular browser mods like ABP or NoScript might be an issue and eventually "developement" needs to have your page being whitelisted or setting up a hint about that ~
Oh, found this thread again ~ if original poster is still around and playing MHR themselves, I like to push a concept on you to consider to increase engagement on your website ~ that is if you are interested. ^^
would be a win:win for the community when done quick and right ~ I do not think it is difficult ~ I am just too lazy and in no position to handle it legally when making it myself.
