Interactions broken?

I can't interact with NPC's I have to tab out, click back into the game and press X right after in order to start talking to people or interact with the item box. My X button isnt broken because I can keep using it for everything else and I have no idea how to fix it.

ok i think i found the problem but not sure about the fix. it seems that the L2 button is constantly being pushed down and therefore you cannot interact with NPC's because X acts with the wirebug from holding L2. I saw you can disconnect the steam input, i tried that and it didnt work, but I just restarted my computer and now its not like that? I'd try the input thing and if not then restarting. If you see the wirebug circle on your screen when you load in then you are broken.

I found the fix !!!
You need to disable Steam input
game library > MH Rise > RightClick > Property > Controller Property > disable Steam input

did you find a fix that fixes the controller? cause if you turn off steam input you cant use the controller anymore.

Yes it fix my controller
But its use X-input, if you use Switch or PS controller, try use somthing like "DS4Windows" what emulat Xbox-controller-input

Instead of turning off steam's controller companion app, just open it up and make sure the template is set to a a standard gamepad setup (for your controller type) rather than one of the other setups, should fix you right up.

Steam has a habit of defaulting to kb/m and other such setups which screws with games that have natural controller support .

nvm finally got it working, had to restart a couple times and it just worked
