Needs More Robust K+M Keybinding Options
Hello there,

Just throwing my opinion out there that there's more options needed to fine tune keybinding. I am noticing this most with "bar" navigation and the Wirebug. If I am missing something for how to already achieve what I am looking for, please let me know too.

Options I would like:
1. Wirebug Toggle - like the clutch claw in MH:World for melee and all ranged weapons
2. Wirebug forward launch (or whatever it is called) button combo
3. Wirebug up launch (or whatever it is called) button combo
4, The option to change the item and action bar control toggle to be something other than CTRL (Per Overmage in comments below: "This can also be done. Key Bindings -> Melee/Ranged Weapons -> Item Bar (Hold) / Reset Camera. I set mine to X.")
5. Ability to use the period and comma keys
6. Why are there two buttons to confirm the Action Bar selection and why *must* I have both set!?
7. Speaking of which, let me have whatever keys unbound that I want other than purely essential ones that would let me get back to the keybinding screen to set keybindings again.
8. Also, why in keybinding options do you have controller binding hints for Multi-Button Action sections? I should not be seeing ABY or Square, Triangle, Circle here. It should be showing the currently set keyboard option. Like "Multi-Button Action (T+E+G)"
9. The keybind for Ranged Weapons Run/Sheathe (Hold) doesn't actually sheath the bow but the (Toggle) version does.
10. Why can I aim my Wirebug behind me but firing it off only goes in the direction my character is facing? Can't it be made to where it makes the character face that way or have the Wirebug aiming lock forward only?
11. Why do you require us to go through chunks of your tutorial before we can change keybindings (and advanced graphical settings)??

What are some more refined keybinding options you'd like to see?

9 is one that annoys me a lot.
But i'll add to this: Being able to use F both for talk/gather and for weapon attacks, I got used to using F in world. As far as I can tell this game has no interactions while unsheathed that would make this a problem, just like World.

Ugh, yeah. Not being able to have some non-crossover keybind overlap is frustrating while you can overlap for others.

According to a game tutorial popup thing, whatever the keybind you set for Use Item is to Sheath too but then I have to ask why the game says the controls for Sheath are one thing but the prompt indicates a different keybind. This is starting to smell lazy and/or rushed some...

this is one of the reasons why I haven't bothered to buy rise. Spent quite a bit of time fighting with the key binding options in the demo to get it into something resembling a useful configuration but it just doesn't work well. Made all the more hilarious with Capcom's advertising of optimized mouse and keyboard controls.

Wirebug/aim toggle exists, it didn't before in the demo (iirc demo only allowed aim not wirebug toggle) but they fixed it. The way to select it is VERY unintuitive but it's there. Go to Camera -> Gunner Reticle Controls and you can switch between toggle and hold. They really should have bindings for both like world, but hey, better than nothing.

Thank you for this information! Yeah, EXTREMELY unintuitive but so glad to have that info.

I do not envy the trial and error you possibly went through to find this stuff out, but I appreciate the details nonetheless!

And yeah, still not fixed from the demo. Use Item works to sheath though. Still, that's not to excuse the non-working binding.

I may cancel my refund request (though I doubt it'll get approved anyway spending 2.9 hours just to go through tutorial and try to configure controls) but I still dislike how unintuitive some of this is. Thank you very much again. Sending an award your way~

If you use the manual firing, then this works. Forward and vertical fire do not respect camera angles, only character angles. Probably a design decision.

Half of these are actually in the keyboard settings.

Yeah they did a way better job with World on the PC control side, and also other things. It is clearly they put a lot less work in this port.

But so far I would love to bind the ALT key as well, which is currently impossible and also disable the radial menu and only have the hotkey bars. But at least they implemented the bars, just missing the option to pick which one you prefer.

Oh and before I forget, bring that keybinding option to the main menu as well, as now you are forced to get the introduction done before you unlock the option menu where you can change them.

Now you even have the tutorials mention that you can rebind them in the options, but at that point that options menu is still locked.

Gotta try that fix for 4. I got so pissed in the demo when I was trying to put item bar on tab and it didn't let me. I don't need the chat window like ever except outside combat.
