Ah, still only 4. I figured it was a limitation for switch hardware.
Even with 16 max players in hub for MHW, it was not really enough.

yes it is 4 players only. But please if you host lobbies do not enable randoms from outside your lobby to join your quests mid quest, it screws people who join your lobby.

Theres no point really when you still just end up with 4 players in a hunt

Sure, but when you make many friends through the game, it's nice to be able to be in the same large session.

Meh, discord could always help with that.
Same with the forums.
Seen plenty nowadays.

16 player lobbies are great for immersion, but rarely do people in your lobby join your quests. all they are good for is random chatter or asking for a carry. In 4 player lobbies you actually hunt with the people in your lobby 9/10 times.

I don't think it's hardware limitation. Sounds more like design limitation from the start.

Switch hardware definitely can push the player limit to 8 (Switch local wireless connection limit). And I'm sure that the lobby didn't put much stress on Switch hardware, since you'll be hunting in 4 man team anyway.

Oh, that's interesting. I guess MHW was the only MH game that had more than four player hubs.
