I am pretty certain this game is gonna get review bombed by graphics nazis that can't handle that MHR is a switch port with "worse" graphics than MHW
Edit: To clarify I love the way MHR looks, yes the poly count and density is worse than MHW but I think it looks better due to the art style

Considering it looks like a 10 year old game (or older), it deserves it. They're asking for full price, they'll get a full price review.

Oh most likely.
Too many people came to MH thanks to World but came expecting that MH always looks like that. Its a sad effect of bringing in a new playerbase and unfortunately there is little we as fans can really do other then encourage those people to understand that graphics =/= gameplay and that you should never judge a game on graphics alone...

game is being praised already by famous reviewers. now, stop pretending graphics dont matter on video james, that is absolutely stupid, you dont taste video james you look at them.
this is a port from a game on a handheld console, everyone that can read can understand why the graphics are worse than mhw. not "worse" just worse. and that is fine. the game is too pricey for what it is though, i can see reviewers who pay for their games complaining about that though. but it's a monter hunter game, so it's fun and it has cool new things introduced to the franchise.but is it gonna be played for as long as mhw or will it have the same cultural impact mhw did? no, it wont. it just looks like some handheld game. and cry as you might; graphics are always gonna be a crucial aspect of video james. especially graphics so well crafted and stylish as mhw are, even though it somewhat lacked on weapon/armor designs.

Err... Have you seen games on the Switch? They are not half price. Those are full price releases on the Switch. Graphic fidelity dosen't matter when it comes to the price. It's a AAA game all the same and it recieved a AAA development cycle.

Famous reviewers are shill for Capcom though , if they don't praise it they won't get early access .
Independence content creators are the one who can point out what is wrong with Rise , and Graphic certainly is not the major point .

yeah agree 100%. and tbh going by the demo, this pc port is gonna be very annoying to a lot of people.

I think people generally know what they are getting with this game. If you are a Monster Hunter fan, you know this is a Switch port. If you aren't a Monster Hunter fan, you probably don't know the graphics aren't quite as good as the last entry. I won't say the graphics won't impact reviews at all, but I don't think it is going to hurt the game perception too much.

Even if you value graphics enough to somehow choose base world over rise despite rise being leagues beyond what world was at this point in its life cycle, I don't see how the graphics being less to your liking is enough for the negative vitriol thrown at the game at times. You'd think from the comments that pop up on this board rise in using vector graphics or something, its baffling to me.

The game looks great with all the bells and whistles on, 144hz, and high resolution scale. In fact I'd honestly say it's more visually pleasing to me than MHW. Sure, it's not as technically impressive, but something about the smoothness and visual clarity reminds me of emulating the older titles at a high resolution. It's like how old games look in your memories. I'll take MHR's crisp lines and lack of visual clutter as opposed to World's overindulgence in particle effects, choppy performance, inconsistent lighting, and bad anti-aliasing solutions. I think if MHW got DLSS 2.0 support at some point, it's a different conversation.

It's not the Graphics that made me buy it. I like that it's more small scale and seemingly less grindy than World. I have a 6800 XT(I can max just about any game). No. Graphics don't matter unless it's the point of this experience. When Co-op is involved I need a smooth and responsive experience more than eye candy.

That said. If God of War(GRAPHICS MATTER HERE!!!) does not temporarily blind me I will rage and demand a refund!!!!

Yeah, exactly like how base world was. People really seem to forget how bare bones world was too for a good while.

Doubt it. Cyberpunk 2077 was mostly positive despite botching their launch and still is botched.

You have to mess up like on battlefield 2042 major levels in order to get review bombed. Unless you think 90% positive qualifies as "review bombed" because 10% downvoted it.
