You may be slightly off there.
Because they could have just had an import save from memory function like freedom unite did otherwise.
So, your comparison is a bit off.
However, Rise for switch and PC are going to be the exact same game once it releases, and both platforms have their advantages, (pc: graphics, mods; Switch: portability) So it's possible for someone to play both simultaneously, in that case if they were to implement a “save data transfer” it would be better to just make it cross save instead.
Which is why reconsidering a one time transfer method would be nice.
But honestly don't get your hope up for official transfer save,they said it wasn't in it and pretty sure they already stoped caring about it with that statement out
it's one thing to have a fortnite account keeping track of everything, on epic's servers, but it's another thing to try and access a save file on the nintendo system and send it to the PC.
