They don't, but it would be nice. Even just armour sets or tying some special layered to them would have been nice. An example, Extremoth gave you an exclusive Guild Card title and Drachen layered. That alone was enough for people to bang their heads against it.
We could go out on a limb and say all monsters in the game shouldn't drop any parts at all and you should still hunt them because of the sense of pride and accomplishment you get...
It is more likely that Sunbreak will invalidate most of the gear options in base game, just like Iceborne did to World. At most you get a faster upgrade.
If EVERY monster had an Apex I might have thought differently.
