How do you even use voice chat?

Theres no option for push to talk, no options to change mic input. It says my mic is disabled yet voice chat is on

try enabling steam microphone settings, some games directly use that as voip, im not too sure in this case, but try.

Hm... even then I probably would thought they use discord rather than the ingame voice chat. I mean, I have it off by default, so I would not know if anyone tries to use it?

Theres another post of the community. Basically, voice chat only works for lobbies and not with joined quests.

To be honest the first thing I did was disabling both voicechat input and output since I don't want to deal with muting people that are just leaving their mic on without actually using it (i.e. you just hear them eating, talking to someone else or their loud ass TV), stuff happened a lot in world and I thought it will be the same here since voicechat and mic always on is the default setting
