its just for a handful attacks, no biggie, your on the move constantly anyway with guard lance now and the move that are unblockable are telegraphed early, just thrust away and safe 3 level 2 slots for something useful.
For the emergency heals I can see that being useful. Thrust away, sheath weapon, wirebug away, heal.
Does the anchor rage skill block everything?
Not sure what you mean. With lvl 1 Guard Up you'll still get hit by 70% of an "unblockable attack's" damage. Even at max lvl you'll still eat 20%, which is clearly delineated in it's description.
Was kinda bummed about its nerf myself, but thinking about it, I guess it now synergizes quite well with Valstrax armor. Cause it's kinda hard to "get hit but not too much" in late-game
Dunno, for me it was just an extremely fun power fantasy in MHW. Like, "wanna hit me with your strongest attack? NOPE!" — the feeling and sound of blocking a freaking full-speed CARGO TRAIN with your shield were just too good, heh.
If the game was balanced, LS wouldn't have more forgiving iframes than ever, wouldn't have lai slash being unable to consume a spirit gauge when you miss (when it used to as punishment), and wouldn't be so braindead easy now.
Ask gunlance players how they feel about being so weak on damage or lance how they feel that their shield is basically useless with long recovery while LS can just keep spamming damage and counters with no penalty.
OIbviously thats what they want.
