Stock at HR 1
I have reached 4 star quests in the solo quests, but HR still says one, any ideas?

Only Hub quest raises your HR.

Technically there are Village special requests that will raise your HR for the first 3 levels.

Village doesn't have a hunter rank

The village/solo quests don't increase HR, but the hub urgent quests do. Village/solo stops at the end of low rank and also gives you a special quest to jump to said end of low rank in the hunter hub.

You can increase HR with village quests, only after you unlock the HR Cap through the Hub quests FYI. Discovered this when hunting for low rank materials

No worries, every quest you do counts towards your HR in the background. You'll HR limit will unlock a few times the further you go in the game & eventually it will have no limit & will now show your HR based on everything you've done so far.

Village is only Low rank. Low rank has always kinda been a tutorial mixed with story in Monster Hunter games. Hub is where you'll reach HIgh rank.
