MONSTER HUNTER RISE

MONSTER HUNTER RISE

Does 'Master Mounter' reduce riding threshold like in World?
In World, this skill meant you need fewer 'from above' (mounting damage) attacks to mount.
Is it the same in Rise or does Master Mounter only work when you are already riding? Its text seems to indicate it only helps ridden monsters fill their gauge...
As IG user it's kinda important to know. Thanks.

Air damage doesn’t effect how fast you go into wyvrn riding so the skill only effects how fast the gauge when riding the monster for your big attack is.

Wait, air damage no longer unlocks riding? It's all damage now? So at certain monster HP threshold you automatically unlock ride?

No, its still air damage. Any damage done with a jump attack, and any damage done through wirebug skill, as well as any damage done to a monster, by another monster. Turf Wars usually end up with a mount opportunity

Edit: To actually answer your question though, Master Mounter increases the rate the gague fills so you can do a Mount Punisher. It also makes it easier to do an evade parry when youre riding a monster, which deals damage to the other monster

To expand, any damage numbers with a blue background counts towards wyvern riding

OK so it's still air damage (besides turf wars) but Master Mounter no longer improves its effect. Thanks.

Technically only wire bug based jumping attacks and silk binds build towards the riding. IG normal vault does not. The quote below is from capcoms website the link will be below that

“Get monsters into a Mountable State by damaging them enough with Wirebug Jumping Attacks or Silkbind moves, letting them fight each other, or using certain Endemic Life. Approach a monster in this state and land a blow or sheathe your weapon and press to start Wyvern Riding.”

Except in game, aerial attacks with the IG have the same blue damage indicator (mounting damage) as wire bug/silkbinds/monster damage. In fact I'm pretty sure all aerial attacks do, including just jumping off your dog

I think the website is just mentioning the new stuff, it doesn't need to say any aerial attack counts because that's been the standard. also probably because wirebug/silkbinds are going to be the more effective method by far for the majority of weapons

Any damage numbers with blue contribute to mount.

So: It does not need to be a wirebug attack. Just anything with a blue background.

Normal IG aerial attacks definitely count toward wyvern riding
