MONSTER HUNTER RISE

MONSTER HUNTER RISE

Multiplayer is absolutely unplayable for me.
Okay what the hell is going on, I recently finished Village quests and now I have to play Hub quests for what I'm assuming the rest of the game but here's three problems:

1. Whenever I host a quest and send a join request no one ever joins me, I honestly don't get this, I asked around and apparently its not regional matchmaking so that isn't the issue, some also said it might be my internet's issue but my network is working fine, are there ports I have to forward in order to have others join me or something?

2. I tried responding to join requests and join other people instead but I ALMOST ALWAYS join at the end of the hunt, I can't participate in slaying a single monster

3. I thought to myself maybe I should opt for solo play and be done with it then I remembered the Hub quest monsters are always scaled for multiplayer, so something as simple as a Kulu Ya Ku would take me a whopping 20 minutes minimum to beat

This is actually driving me insane, any idea how to deal with this?

EDIT: I stand corrected fellas, I think I may have misunderstood the game's instructions about the Hub Quests being scaled to multiplayer only. Still having the connection issues tho

If you mean via the palico in the village steelworks well I haven't really tested this out yet
I do and it might worth testing. If you cannot connect to them or theres none available then it's almost certainly some sort of connectivity issue. If it works fine than maybe there just aren't enough players doing the quests you are trying to do.

1. Try joining quests instead. I always join quests and never host my own and never have any issues, I think there’s simply more people hosting their own quests instead of joining others’

2. That’s just horrid luck. I’ve done almost all of my high rank hunts in multiplayer and have had exactly 2 hunts where the monster was almost dead by the time I joined

3. No they aren’t. Hub monsters scale to single player

Whilst Hub monsters do have separate scaling for all player counts including solo players even as a solo player they still have more HP than monsters in Village quests and as such will take more time as OP noted.
Kulu Yaku solo in the hub shouldn't take even 10 minutes. With on level gear no quest in the entire hub including emergency event quests should take 20 minutes.

the best way to think about this is the solo hub versions are the normal state and village quests weaken them and multi strengthens them

I'd say not to worry about this and just try things solo. Or rather solo with two Palicoes.
Either use two Gathering cats if you're aiming for loot, or one Fighter and one Bomber if you're aiming to just get things killed ASAP. It should work out fine.
The hub stuff is tougher than village, but playing it solo is still a LOT easier than it was in the old games.

As to the other stuff... coincidence... or bad internet possibly. I often get dragged into the end of hunts too, but often get the beginning too.

You are clicking the second option of allow people to come help or are you just choosing the mission and clicking first option which will make you do it solo ?. Do you even own the game by the way a it does not show that you do ?, if you pirated it then that's your problem.

In the same sense that junior league baseball is more complicated than T-ball, sure. It's more accurate to say the Village was scaled even further down, and the Hub is the baseline, so that the Village could serve as an extended tutorial for newer players. solo Hub monsters are relatively on par with what they would be when running solo in World

The joining seems to be a little weird. I started a hunt with the join enabled. Nobody joined... until I had the monster like 3 hits away from death then 3 people joined all at once and got to loot without actually having to help at all

1. Yes I am clicking the second option aka send join requests aka the one that lets people join me, I'm not that dumb fam

2. Game isn't even cracked so there's no way for me to be playing the "pirated" version, idk about the little mouse icon that tells you if someone owns a game or why it's not showing for me but I do own the game and I've already put as much as 47 hours into it.

This.

This also happened to me on numerous occasions, as soon as the monster starts limping suddenly 3 people flood my game..
Can you join lobbies?

Sure, solo hub is the baseline and that's how I'd usually explain it but regardless of how you put it solo hub quests are still more difficult than village and as such will take longer which is all I was clarifying.

As for comparisons to World those are all well and good when a user has indicated that they've played World but we (the community collectively) shouldn't just be assuming everyone posting has played previous games in the series.

Doesn't make much sense but okay sure I guess I'll change that as well, at this point I'm desperate for any solution
