It more so takes the washed out colours of the previous games and its art direction, and it's totally ok that you don't like it, but comparing it to a 2012 kmmo is pretty laughable.
And yeah, even MH World looked a bit washed out - prior to the DirectX API upgrade that came with Iceborne, MHW looked really great with one of the different color profiles that SpecialK offered since it made the colors a lot richer and more saturated.
I'm hoping they have the sense to add both a Resident Evil filter (since there's a bit of a European Vampire castle-sort of theme happening) and a "Vibrant" filter to Sunbreak, as it's a bit of a missed opportunity currently with how muted some of the current color palette can read in the dusty/hazy/foggy environments.
That's, just like, your opinion, man. The monsters are based off japanese yokai. Just say you don't like it, that's fine. But it don't suck.
I have a lot of problems with both games but I try to qualify my opinions when I make them.
Opinions are great, I've had pretty fun discussions about what I like about each game, or dislike, there's some really grating problems in both games.
I still play World because I like a lot about that game and the fashion was better (imo), and I play this game regularly still. it costs you $0 to have a better opinion.
Edit: Clarifying... a "better" opinion is one you describe. Saying "this is broken" or "this sucks ass" doesn't help anyone, it's not conducive to any good change or discussion.
I might be expecting too much though. It's really not that hard.
