when your gauge turns red, you'll automatically enter arch demon mode when you exit demon mode. Your base B (Xbox), O (PS), or A ( Nin) attacks will change and yo'll have access to a Y+B, △+O, or X+A (depending on controller) attack.

archdemon mode replaces the regular non-demon (human?) mode once your gauge gets filled up and turns red. it replaces some of the attacks you have in that mode.

it's very useful because you can still do good damage, and since your stamina isnt draining you can afford to use a lot of dashes and become very difficult to kill. it also has a unique move, a demon flurry that is split up into multiple parts so you can cancel it early.

the only issue is the fact that Feral Demon Mode increases your damage by 20% and that means being in archdemon mode is a damage loss (if you're using the feral demon mode switch skill)
