Rise is developed simultaneously with World.
Rise is developed for handheld so it was designed to be lightweight.
I literally aknowledged that graphics aren't everything, i made the observation that this game indeed looks like dookie. Don't tell me you like how it looks when indie games out there can produce graphics that aren't even comparable to this excuse of a triple A title for less than half that dev cost.
The game isn't bad, it just its aesthetic that's not pleasing to me considering how much money got pumped into it. If its because they wanted it to work on the switch, they could have used the same engine as world but streamlined it to the point of it working... Oh wait, the switch has a terrible gpu/cpu, my bad.
The game was made for the Switch, a Portable "upgraded" Iphone (basically.) It's a really bad and shoddy port, essentially.
It's World 2.0 with Nintendo graphics. Set your bar low cuz it's difficulty is really easy too. Like you would expect from games on the Switch.
Personally, as long as it doesn't look like how it used to in Generations or 3/4U (despite how amazing the art direction was in those games), I'd be pretty satisfied.
It’s all in the art direction and I’d be stoked if future games shied away from sheer computational flexing and more into bringing ideas to life.
As in all games, graphics doesn't determine if its a good game or if it isn't, i just find it disappointing that they wouldn't expend on what world managed to be for the sake of it working well on a portable console that's been on its last legs since the very beginning. Not only that but the game somehow runs terribly on my pc whilst world doesn't.
Uh... I'm just gonna assume you're joking about the Switch being on it's last legs.
World runs worse on my PC, but I still run both over 60FPS on max settings no matter what, so I'm sorry to hear that. That's just my experience, though.
I think the reason they didn't expend as much on Rise is because it wasn't supposed to be in a similar vein as world, or 4U or even 3U. It was in a similar vein as Generations, which granted, still has a lot invested into it (like Rise). I think this excuses most of the non forward progression because Rise (much like Generations) was released mostly as a "hey what if we did this haha" with the wirebug mechanics + switch skills (or hunter arts and styles).
Although I can understand why you might be disappointed, I would say that at the very least there's always the next one, which ought to be mainline, methinks.
You clearly don't know what games from 2009 looked like. Rise looks way better then them.
Ah you right, it's not as if i played any games before that or anything. Soldier of Fortune double helix looks better than that and it came out in 2001
It is obvious the game is looking worst than World but stop freely spitting on the game, Take MH3 and MHRise and dare tell me they look the same xD
