Unless you don't want to pay for flashbombs either, in which case... i dunno... Get a Sleep weapon Palamute/Palico and TCS the back after it triggers?
However there isn't any unique drops that specifically only dropped by breaking back, the only semi-rare material is rathalos' spine which can also be dropped by cutting tail.
Flashbombs are not as efficient as they used to be in older games, you can maybe get a level one or two draw slash on the back with focus, but the monster will be up before you can get much else. That's why I didn't mention them.
Right now my best approach is to spam pitfall traps, though that's involved a lot of farcastering back to base to refuel.
Sadly my Glaive experience is not even at Low Rank mastery (Haven't touched the Glaive outside of 4U, and it wasn't past 2 star), while my Greatsword competancy is at Master/G rank being my long-time main. So That'd be several dozen hours of training trying to work up competancy with that weapon.
Oh, I have many, but I should correct, it's expensive in terms of time. As it usually needs 3-4 traps to get a break even with focus. Which costs me both traps and farcasters.
Yes I am aware of that, but I need more than I can bring. Especially since they are often too tall to break the wings, which often means 5-7 , which means at least 1-2 trips back to beck to get the traps needed to get a full break.
