OR people quitting because sudden difficulty spike because they don't know what armor skills are, how to upgrade weapons or armor. but are lategame by being carried

Nah totally use them so you get to the cooler armor faster.

After all. Lots of people know how to upgrade armor, and "Grind more money so you can actually use those hundreds of armor spheres you got" isn't skill based.

The better armor isn't going anywhere, and using the wacky "shortcut" armor will not lower your appreciation for the real armor sets.

Well, unless you are a baby who thinks time is a measure of skill. In which case my listening to Yakuza 3 let's plays while I refill my wallet would make me a hardcore real master monster hunter player.

Those are two different posters with different names lads.
At least this game's Defender armor has a useful skill on it so people using it won't be as deadweight as in World. And the weapons can't carry you through the entire base game with the measly ~150 raw they get at max level seemingly.

Well a lot of people got screwed by defender Armor/weapons in world/iceborne, what op describes mirrors a lot of reviews for world/iceborne so I get where he is coming from

If the new people dont understand how the armour numbers on master rank gear is much higher than on the high rank gear they probably aren't cut out for it anyway

The new Defender Gear basically caps at LR. Maxed out LS is the same as Rare 4Wroggi LS. The Armor seems to be gathering gear with max def at 30.

Constitution 1
Recovery up 1
Flinch free 1

Doesnt really sound like there is all that much to worry about really, especially compared to worlds defender armour

It's way stronger than World's Defender armor, Attack Boost 4 and Flinch Free 1 actually aren't half bad. If you mix some of the pieces with other pieces with Attack Boost to reach level 7 on that skill before you can get Anja waist or Rath arms it'll be usable certainly.
You could actually call this an armor set, whereas World's Defender armor didn't have any skills on it basically. At least Rise's version might teach some new players that you're supposed to build for damage and not for defense.
